Pitches

  • Well-kept wild camping pitches in the peaceful Gwynedd countryside
  • Bala and the edge of Eryri National Park 10 minutes' drive
  • Dogs welcome and barbecues or campfires permitted
If simple, spacious and scenic sums up your north Wales wishlist, you’ll likely be most pleased with the setup at Gadlas Camping. About 10 minutes’ drive from Bala and the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, this is a peaceful spot with an almost-wild camping vibe – think access to an earth toilet, but no drinking water, showers, wifi or electricity supply (good news for those seeking some digital detox time). The views here are gorgeous, looking out over the green surroundings towards the Berwyn mountains and Eryri – and there’s plenty of space for you to take them all in. That also means you’ll be able to set up your gazebo, awning and outdoor furniture, or to get your barbecue or campfire going safely. Families, groups, couples and solo travellers are all welcome here – along with any dogs you may like to bring. Everyone should find plenty to keep them occupied in the surrounding area, whether that’s hiking, watersports, fishing, exploring the area’s heritage or even hitting the seaside. Your hosts are a friendly bunch who are always happy to point you towards a good fishing spot on the River Dee or recommend the local pub (about five minutes’ drive away).
