Local attractions

The Llyn Peninsula is a unique and beautiful part of North Wales, renowned for its natural charm and mild climate. Eating Out: You will find an abundance of great pubs, restaurants and cafes in the local area! Retail: Many independent boutiques, such as First Light, Boardrider and Coastal Culture, as well as the big brands of Crew Clothing, Joules and White Stuff in the heart of Abersoch village. Abersoch Watersports, Offaxis & West Coast Surf is where you'll be able to hire all the toys for sea fun and quiz the staff on their wealth of knowledge. Grocery shopping can be done at Spar or Londis, with the bigger supermarkets located in Pwllheli (Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Home Bargins, B&M, Iceland). Islands: Boat trips to Bardsey Island, or around St Tudwal islands are bookable. Learn about the geology and marine life. Hiking: We are located just off the Wales Coastal Path, where you might spot interesting wildlife, flora and fauna. Spotting bottle-nosed dolphins and seals is common. Just ask us for a map! Beaches: Abersoch Main Beach, a long sandy beach, perfect for swimming, sailing & water sports. 3 cafes & 3 public toilet amenities located along the beach. 3 car parks provide access that charge a fee. To get to the carparks either turn up between Two Islands cafe and the garage in the centre of the village, or go up the main street and take the road signposted to the Golf course, or (nearer to us) follow signs for Machroes Beach/Mickeys Boatyard Cafe. Dogs not allowed on sailing school side of beach during high season. Porth Ceiriad, is a south facing picturesque cove, ideal for surfers and bodyboarders. Dog friendly. The car park is on the cliffs above the beach and accessible via Nant-y-Big or Pant farm (fee payable). Abersoch Harbour Beach. The small harbour wall is great for crabbing. There are some free/time restrained car parking bays. You will also find the Abersoch RNLI station across the river. Porth Neigwl, aka Hell's Mouth Beach, is a three mile surfing beach in Llanengan. Dog friendly. The free car park is about a 500m walk from the beach across a sandy track. Whistling Sands Beach (aka Porth Oer) provides shelter from Easterly winds. The sand gives a curious ‘whistling’ sound as you walk across it. A National Trust car park is located at the top of the hill, a 5 min walk along tarmac to the beach. You'll find a cafe & great rock pools here. Beach, with its brightly coloured row of beach huts, is located in the next village in the direction of Pwllheli. A National Trust car park provides parking very close to this beach, near to the public toilets. Aqua bar & cafe is located at the entrance to this beautiful, one mile long, dog friendly beach. The famous 'Tin Man' statue overlooks Llanbedrog beach and can be reach via the Oriel Plas Y Weddw or via the steep steps from Llanbedrog beach. Porth Dinllaen Beach, home to the voted third best beach bar in the world, is located in Morfa Nefyn. A walk through the golf course, or along the beach, will be rewarded with a beautifully sheltered, dog friendly beach at Ty Coch pub. A walk around the headland takes in Aberdaron RNLI station where you can step inside and learn all about the wonderful institution. A National Trust car park opposite a cafe provides parking. Further afield: Plas Glyn y Weddw, Neuadd Dwyfor, Glasfryn Parc, Rabbit Farm, Plas yn Rhiw, Porth y Swnt, Pwllheli Amusements, Criccieth Castle and many churches
