Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Amazing owners! So helpful and nothing too much trouble, large spaces, site was amazingly clean and peaceful. Toilets and showers was so so clean. Our first month of being out in our motorhome and this was a perfect set up. The dog pen made it amazing for us. Wifi was amazing! Some advertise wifi but it does not work but this was a super good connection.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovely, clean and well maintained site. Stunning location, far enough from the road that you can't hear it. Plenty of space for everyone. Facilities all modern and spotless.

Disliked Just a tiny slope on the pitch but not enough to spoil anything. Next time will remember ramps!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Stayed 2 nights. Really nice site - small, so quiet although full. Lovely 360-degree views of the surrounding hills. Very clean toilet block and showers, plus washing-up area. Plus it even has a cafe! As this was closed on the Saturday due to the staff going to the Eisteddfod, we were offered a tray of food (sausages, bacon, baps, jam, yoghurts, fruit etc) for a tenner, which was very welcome. Nicely placed for visiting Ruthin, and there are a few lovely inns close by for evening meals.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

If you think your legs will take it, the team on site highly recommend a hike up to Moel Famau, the highest hill in the Clwydian Range and reachable within 15 minutes’ drive. It’s a climb of 1,818 feet to the top but do stagger up if you can – the views of north Wales and north-west England from the summit’s Jubilee Tower are stunning. Walks are easily accessed from Moel Famau too – if you dare – including a couple of short trails to the south (from the car park) and down to the village of Cilcain via the footpath from the summit. For the truly hardy, the local section of the Offa’s Dyke Path skirts alongside Moel Famau… it runs for a full 177 miles if you’re up for it… For a gentler day out, drive the five minutes or so to Ruthin for its restaurants, pubs, independent shops and 800 years of architecture around its narrow streets. It’s a pretty place to potter around, with plenty of the region’s famed black and white houses to see as well as peaceful times to be had by the River Clywd running through Cae Ddôl park.
