Liked: Nice enough site and price. Staff friendly...

Disliked: Entry exit Close proximity to other people No place to wash yourself properly apart from showering.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Entrance and exit well signposted and had been widened and levelled this season. Hot showers are provided free as the hand wash sinks in the toilets are hand wash size not full body & cold water only. You were welcome to get hot water to wash from the hot pot wash sink in a bowl or bucket and go back to your caravan to wash. Did you not have a sink in your caravan?

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Had two great nights here testing out the new tent and we touched lucky with weather.the pitch was great size for us,also the site just a 15 minute work from dyserth falls and a couple pubs one of which we tried out after the falls😉 not forgetting the banana ice cream from the cafe by the falls. We'd have no problem staying here again as it also has the facilities needed for a few nights camping.

Disliked: Only 1 dislike and it's nothing to do with rhe site.on our last night a family pitched up next to us and they was still playing music after 11pm and popping balloons.when people visit campsites you should follow the site rules and think of other campers.bust besides that we would stay again no problem

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I really cant apologies enough for the disturbance late at night, I did come round at 10.30 and reminded campers it was quite time. If you had rung the night number on your paperwork they would have had security down, however I did speak to them about it and they were sorry to have disturbed anyone. Thank for your comments and review and we hope to see you again. Happy camping and safe travels.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely area to stay in, close to both Rhyll and Prestatyn, site was lovely and clean! The lady on reception was very helpful making sure we knew everything!

Disliked: On the map it said there was a shop but it wasn’t open. i feel like there needed to be toilets on each end of the fields as we had to walk over 3/4 of the field in the middle of the night. The toilets did have many spider webs in and only one sink was working.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The pull up metal roof on the shop is broken so that's why it's not open but there are shops 10 minutes away. We are unable to have toilets down the field as they require electric and a very large effluent tank, sorry. The walk is only a few yards, you could have hired a small portable loo for on your pitch but it possible wasn't worth it for your one night stay, PS the sink taps work on pressure, just push the button on the tap and yes SPIDERS live in the country side and can build a web quickly but on the other hand they do catch the midges (that saves you getting bitten on the bum and moths when campers leave the doors open at night:) at lest the lights are on. See you again, ask about a little loo on your next visit, until then happy camping and safe travels thanks for the recommendations

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Concept of a Pet Rescue charity site and the care of the animals is a credit to the owner. Very strict conditions to foster any dog which is excellent, however restricted to anyone interested outside residing in North Wales. Good facilities for children with play equipment or families on low budget. Availability of food during weekend from burger van on site. Views and location good and walking distance to local Dyserth falls and walking trails.

Disliked: Two sinks for washing up but water was tepid although showers were hot but no temperature control and adequate unless gas bottle ran out!! This is not a site for anyone who wants privacy or an undisturbed nights sleep. There is a curfew of 10.30 which most adhere to but no overview of noise control after curfew from some guests. This is a Budget site and it shows in the very basic facilities it provides. The pitches are a good size and separated by a rope therefore neighbours every movement is overheard. Grass is cut but left on ground so cuttings end up in the tent. Two showers at one end of the site area and a four toilet poterloo block with an additional shower the other end of the site and could do with a toilet added. Toilet block floor mopped daily and bins emptied however the toilets were not cleaned on a regular bases. Stains and paper suck to inner bowel remained for a week. Showers are pallets floor and corrugated walls but adequate provided gas didn’t run out. The site facilities appears neglected and could do with updating and/or a good clean of the toilets. Equally provide local information leaflets of places of interest. Summary Toilets not clean Hook up charges are expensive Electric charged one week for two mobile phones and a camping fridge over £30

From the manager: O dear you are different to to very pleasant mother & daughter we encountered on site who couldn't praise use enough. But that's the way thing are I am quite sure people will make there own minds up and your bad review against all the good ones but I will answer your criticisms. Free hot water at the two sinks on site for washing up and gas replaced ASAP once you informed us. The size of the pitches are as advertised and possibly be adequate if the tents are not oversized (and the tents are getting larger each season) we can provide more space if you book a double pitch making it 12m x 12m and I happen to do a petrol round every evening reminding campers of our quite time, but as you are early sleepers you didn't see me. The grass is cut and mushed (special mower) so sorry if you walked grass into your tent but you are on an all grass site and it's not miracle mowing, we do say one car per pitch and had to ask you regularly to move your second car. The site is very well cared for and I take that as a personal insult so have my staff. The shower are on pallet platforms and yes they have corrugated sides but they are hot and free and other campers think they are great (they are our French rustic in keeping with our green recycling philosophy) You only pay for the EHU you used and you were with us for 7 days. But on saying all that you did cause some laugher when you placed your freezer block and sausages in the Shepard hut (that is the kitchen for the bell tents) and wonder why it got thrown away and you complained it had been stolen, and the way you went the wrong way round the one way system. Ps you spent enough time in the loo's putting on your face the cleaners had to wait for you to finish and they are not portaloos our are flushing toilets. Please feel free to camp on more expensive site, happy camping and safe travels. I did direct you to your denomination church I will say no more than Karma

Local attractions

Time to hit the coast? Take your bucket and spade to the sandy beaches of Rhyl or Prestatyn (both 10 minutes’ drive), get over to Llandudno (half an hour) to walk on the pier and ride the Great Orme tramway, or continue to Conwy (half an hour) to explore the castle. For rural walks you can stay local for the 15-minute stroll to Dyserth Falls, climb the peaks of the neighbouring Clwydian Range or dip your toes into Snowdonia National Park (40 minutes’ drive). The pretty pathways of Bodnant Garden (half an hour) are well worth a wander too. This being Wales, you’re never far from a castle – the turrets of Rhuddlan Castle (five minutes) are the closest, but TV fans may like to drop in at Gwrych Castle (15 minutes) to see where I’m A Celeb was staged.
