  • Well-equipped touring pitches at a rural Mid Wales site near Caersws
  • A 10-minute drive to Llanidloes and 15 minutes to Newtown
  • Restaurant, two bars, adventure playground and crazy golf on site
Travelling Wales in a caravan or motorhome? Make your way to Mid Wales site Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park for a scenic stay amid the lovely landscapes of the Trannon Valley. Pitches at this park are specifically designed for van-based stays, so they’re flat and made of hardstanding materials – and at nine square metres they’re big enough to cope with most sizes of motorhome or caravan. All pitches here are serviced, and there’s an Elsan point as well. Plenty of other facilities are provided too, to make sure that everything’s nicely convenient – a modern shower/toilet block has accessible facilities, baby changing and space for families, and there’s a utility room for washing up and laundry. Essentials all dealt with, it’s time for the fun stuff – the park has nearly four miles of scenic country pathways to stroll along, and the touring park is just next to the play area with crazy golf, an adventure playground, football and badminton. Dogs are welcome to come along and join you here, taking in the walks by your side or heading to the dog exercise area to run about off lead and meet new pals. It’s all very rural in atmosphere here, but you’re not far from amenities if you want them – it’ll take you about 20 minutes to walk to the village of Trefeglwys with its pub, or five minutes to drive to Caersws for a couple more pubs, shops and a fish and chip shop. If that’s all a bit too far away, it’s handy to know that Arthur’s Restaurant & Bar is on hand right there in the park for meals and drinks; as it gets busy, you may need to book a table in advance. There's also a second bar, named Jesse's, which has Sky TV and permits dogs.

What customers say

This is an exceptionally clean and well-maintained site with large, level pitches and excellent facilities. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The on-site restaurant and bar receive high marks for delicious food and atmosphere. Dog owners appreciate the ample walks and dedicated facilities. While some mention a desire for an on-site shop and occasional issues with shower timers, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors eager to return.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (tents not permitted)

Liked Never seen a pitch so large! 9m by 9m was such a luxury! TV aerial connection provided on pitch and fully serviced. Immaculate site which is a must for dog lovers. Lots of walks to do, and a dedicated exercise field where the pups can run free. Shower / toilet block was remarkably clean and just perfect. Lots of ponds and water around with picnic seats everywhere. Looked like a lovely restaurant and bar on site, but one of the dogs with us is a bit unruly so we missed these out. Lots of tables outside the bar, and you can even book an outside pod at the restaurant for the dogs - but ours is just too unruly for that!! Reception was wonderful and everyone so helpful. We cannot wait to return visit! We could see some building work starting for a new pool / sauna activities which I imagine will be just as good as the rest of the site. Lots of seasonal pitches, with a static caravan (luxury!) village and you can even select to stay in the adults only area if you wish. The views 360 are staggering, felt like we were in another world!

Disliked Had to eventually go home!

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (disabled friendly)

Liked We liked absolutely everything about this site. The pitches are large and spacious with amazing views literally all around you. The facilities were clean and modern.
There’s plenty to do on the site itself, it’s huge, plenty of walks. Jesse's bar is lovely and dog friendly and our meal at Arthur’s restaurant was brilliant! The staff were really friendly as was our greeting when we arrived. Hands down the best site we’ve stayed at so far and we will definitely be going back!

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (adults only)

Liked Plenty of space all around the pitch, we picked the Adult Only and it made for peaceful night, can't guarantee the adults though... Bathrooms awesome, clean and tidy. Water a little too hot for me but the hubs loved it, sadly for him- not really enough space, a little tight...

Disliked We ate in Arthur's and although it was very good, excellent food and wine, we thought that the prices were a little steep but we also understand 'captive audience' concept..

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (tents not permitted)

Liked We had a great time here. Quiet, clean private pitches. Bar prices were reasonable. Lovely walks and views. Shower block super clean and warm.

Disliked The serviced points are not central, so one side you need extra long pipes etc
Due to this we couldn’t use the water and waste.
We did enquire what lengths we needed before we went but no one old tell us.
It would be useful for the website to inform you how far the point is to the caravan.
Shop could be better, very basic. Would be useful to sell caravan accessories that maybe needed.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (tents not permitted)

Liked Very clean and tidy site with big level pitches and friendly staff. Food and bar great. Our only downside (not Meadow Springs' fault) was noisy campers in the pitch opposite, although they did go quiet at 10.30pm as per the site rules, up till then we had to turn up our TV and speak up to each other as the noise from the opposite pitch was that loud. I think two neighbouring pitches were friends and they ALL joined up opposite us. The rest of the site was nice and quiet though.

Liked Excellent site, very spacious pitch, friendly staff, great food in both restaurants

Disliked The only thing I can say is and it’s not the sites fault is with the pitches near reception, people visiting for the restaurant or people leaving and giving keys back tended to park on our pitch.

Local attractions

The Mid Wales countryside is packed with places to get out for a walk among the gorgeous scenery – the Elan Valley (35 minutes) is perhaps one of the better known areas, with waterfalls, reservoirs and a great family-friendly trail along an old railway line. It’s also worth stopping by at Clywedog Dam (15 minutes) and seeking out the Source of the River Severn (half an hour). You may spot wildlife as you walk, but for guaranteed sightings, take a visit to the Red Kite Feeding Station (half an hour). For a sense of the area’s history and traditions, visit the shops in Llanidloes (10 minutes), see old crafts at Newtown Textile Museum and learn about mining life at the Silver Mountain Experience (35 minutes). Powis Castle and Garden (40 minutes) is a good bet for history buffs, art lovers, garden gurus and families alike. Fancy a breath of seaside air? Head to the west coast to visit Aberystwyth or hit the beach in Aberdyfi (both about 55 minutes).
