  • Well-equipped touring pitches at a rural Mid Wales site near Caersws
  • A 10-minute drive to Llanidloes and 15 minutes to Newtown
  • Restaurant, two bars and adventure playground on site
Travelling Wales in a caravan or motorhome? Make your way to Mid Wales site Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park for a scenic stay amid the lovely landscapes of the Trannon Valley. Pitches at this park are specifically designed for van-based stays, so they’re flat and made of hardstanding materials – and at nine square metres they’re big enough to cope with most sizes of motorhome or caravan. All pitches here are serviced, and there’s an Elsan point as well. Plenty of other facilities are provided too, to make sure that everything’s nicely convenient – a modern shower/toilet block has accessible facilities, baby changing and space for families, and there’s a utility room for washing up and laundry. Essentials all dealt with, it’s time for the fun stuff – the park has nearly four miles of scenic country pathways to stroll along, and the touring park is just next to the play area with an adventure playground and football. Dogs are welcome to come along and join you here, taking in the walks by your side or heading to the dog exercise area to run about off lead and meet new pals. It’s all very rural in atmosphere here, but you’re not far from amenities if you want them – it’ll take you about 20 minutes to walk to the village of Trefeglwys with its pub, or five minutes to drive to Caersws for a couple more pubs, shops and a fish and chip shop. If that’s all a bit too far away, it’s handy to know that Arthur’s Restaurant & Bar is on hand right there in the park for meals and drinks; as it gets busy, you may need to book a table in advance. There's also a second bar, named Jesse's, which has Sky TV and permits dogs.

Liked Brilliant Park area for kids
Walks around the site are incredible - we had fun on our bikes and walking.
Lake was fantastic for paddleboarding. We took our own equipment and was offered for our equipment to be taken down in a buggy.
All staff really friendly.
Shower block really clean and modern.
Can't wait to come back!

Disliked Not a fully serviced pitch unless you had a motor mover or extra long water and waste pipes.
All bins were overflowing on arrival however they were emptied during our stay.

Liked Lovely site friendly staff
Huge flat pitches my only critism is the hard standing is solid concrete under stones so we're unable to drill our pegs in or hammer them in for awning as husband suffers with arthritis so was too hard a job .
Excellent food at arthurs which we found to be reasonable priced .
Peaceful
Lovely pub and restaurant reasonable price for food

Disliked A little to remote when in motorhome as the roads had no pavements and there wasn't anything for miles .

Not sure if its because of school holidays but bins were overflowing

Extra washing up sinks needed one isn't enough there were ques for it often

From the manager: Good afternoon Krysia

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback-we do read them all and take on board the comments.

I'm glad that overall, you enjoyed your stay with us, but I just wanted to clarify that the bin situation was due to early collections by our provider, due to changes in their normal runs-so that was out of our control but I do apologise for that.
Also, it might not have been explained to you on arrival, but we do have a book-a-bus which picks up from the park 4 times a day to go to Llanidloes and Newtown, which for our visitors, is a great benefit to get out and about.
And lastly, we are looking at redeveloping the facilities block in the near future and fitting out with more sinks as per your point.
We look forward to welcoming you again to Meadow Springs

Kind regards
Clive

Liked The site is beautiful. The restaurant Arthur's is in a lovely decor ,the toilets in thr restaurant and fab .the grounds are kepted up together and the staff are very welcoming

Disliked The showers ,lovely and clean ,but the actual showers are so annoying you have to keep your finger on the button ,very awkward. We would not go back there because of the showers .

From the manager: Good afternoon

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for the park-we do read them all and note any comments.
I'm glad that you think the site is beautiful-we certainly do as well!
Your point about the showers has been mentioned to us before and our plan in the not too distant future, is to replace the facilities block and changes made would be based on visitor comments.
I'm glad that you enjoyed Arthur's Restaurant and having both it and Jesse's Bar onsite, does allow visitors to choose from a choice of menus.

Kind regards
Clive

Local attractions

The Mid Wales countryside is packed with places to get out for a walk among the gorgeous scenery – the Elan Valley (35 minutes) is perhaps one of the better known areas, with waterfalls, reservoirs and a great family-friendly trail along an old railway line. It’s also worth stopping by at Clywedog Dam (15 minutes) and seeking out the Source of the River Severn (half an hour). You may spot wildlife as you walk, but for guaranteed sightings, take a visit to the Red Kite Feeding Station (half an hour). For a sense of the area’s history and traditions, visit the shops in Llanidloes (10 minutes), see old crafts at Newtown Textile Museum and learn about mining life at the Silver Mountain Experience (35 minutes). Powis Castle and Garden (40 minutes) is a good bet for history buffs, art lovers, garden gurus and families alike. Fancy a breath of seaside air? Head to the west coast to visit Aberystwyth or hit the beach in Aberdyfi (both about 55 minutes).
