What customers say

This is a beautiful, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean campsite with friendly and helpful staff. Guests praised the level pitches, excellent facilities including washrooms and showers, and the peaceful riverside location. The site is noted as being great for children and dogs, with a park and dog walking area. A clubhouse/pub is available on-site, and the adjacent golf club restaurant received positive mentions. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points mentioned include the clubhouse opening hours, occasional waste bin overflow, and some finding pitches a little close together.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Cleanliness of the whole site including shower blocks, nearby golf course clubhouse, helpful staff.

Disliked Not really anywhere to walk without going onto busy road. Not sure why clubhouse wasn't open in the high season although it was very quiet.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely well laid out site with pitches by the river, the shower block is fairly new. There is a bar onsite but we didn't use it, it only seemed to open Friday and Saturday evenings. A bit far out but taxis were reasonably priced.

Local attractions

With garden terraces and a museum, the medieval Powis Castle and Garden (15 minutes’ drive) might feel a way away from the modern day. There are lots more ways to get familiar with the local history too, from The Old Station (10 minutes) in Welshpool to nostalgic trips along the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway (20 minutes) or tracing the route of an eighth-century dyke along the 60-mile Offa’s Dyke Path (around five minutes). At the same time, there’s plenty to root you in the present. Perhaps you'd like to try the watersports on Lake Vyrnwy (50 minutes) on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park… or nearby tracks around the Berwyn Mountains and the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr (55 minutes) waterfall. Hike up your heart rate with more routes around the Shropshire Hills (around half an hour) or up the stakes a little with paintball and quad biking at Border Quad Trekking (25 minutes). Meanwhile, The Flash Leisure Centre (10 minutes) has a swimming pool, exercise classes and café for a nice brew afterwards.
