What customers say

This well-maintained campsite boasts stunning rural views and is praised for its clean, excellent facilities, including hot showers and convenient washing-up areas. Visitors highlight the friendly, helpful staff and the peaceful atmosphere. Pitches are spacious and tidy, with many featuring picnic benches. The location is ideal for exploring the local area. While some mention minor inclines on pitches and a need for more washing facilities when busy, overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with many intending to return.

Liked Lovely estuary views and provided some shelter from storm Amy. Facilities were fine and site was quiet. 15 min drive from Aberdyfi for some excellent fish and chips.

Liked Nice welcome and easy to check in. Clear directions and signs to the pitch, area was clear of the flooding about the area.

Hot showers after a day at Dyfi were a real god send. Location is great and it's a really nice clean and well maintained site.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Friendly site owners, helpful and attentive. Good facilities, always clean and working as intended. Camp site was quiet when we stayed, so not very busy when using the facilities, although with a full site, I could imagine it being an issue, with only two washing up stations and six or so toilets.

Electric hook up worked well and pitches were tidy and clean.

Disliked The site has some slightly sloped pitches, so make sure you sleep with your head uphill, otherwise it could be uncomfortable after a few days.

Some old moldy food left in the fridges. Might benefit from some better categorization and cleaning.

Local attractions

Four miles to the east is Machynlleth for the local street market on Wednesdays and getting techy at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT); it's also home to a comedy festival in the spring. Aberystwyth is about a 40-minute drive south for shops, restaurants and nights out. If you’d rather escape the towns, explore the award-winning beaches and harbours (15 minutes' drive) for fishing and strolling. The Aberdyfi estuary’s beaches and sand dunes are some of the best kept in the country, and for those who fancy a round (of golf, that is), the area is also home to an award-winning golf course. For kitesurfers and boarders, beaches at Tywyn, Borth and Fairbourne (the furthest of which is 10 miles away) should offer some exciting sporting opportunities, with some even offering tuition. Back on dry land, the Dyfi Bike Park (10 minutes) is known as one of the best mountain bike locations in all the land. If you prefer more laidback days out, take a trip to Talyllyn’s steam railway (around eight miles away) or travel from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge on the Vale of Rheidol steam railway line.
