What customers say

This is a tranquil, eco-friendly campsite set in a quiet rural location with spacious, well-defined pitches and friendly, helpful owners. Visitors enjoyed the natural feel, the roaming animals like chickens and ducks, and the stargazing opportunities. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, including hot showers and a communal barn. The campsite is a pleasant walk to Mwnt beach. Minor points raised include a preference for a second flushing toilet and infrequent issues with nearby farm noise. Some also noted that the advertised walk to the beach was longer than expected. Managers have noted feedback regarding vehicle parking and toilet facilities.

Bell tent

Liked The bell tent was sent up perfectly for a mum and two teenagers. Clean, and well kitted out.
My son was impressed with how little the compost loo smelled!
The view was amazing.
Helen was so kind and helpful and flexible.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Booked in by error but a nice mistake, quiet location and away from shopping amenities so bring supplies. Friendly greeting and rustic site, great place to get away from the overly clinical sites where you can't be one with nature.
Nice we have a fire pit to use and lovely break away. Stayed for 2 nights with campervan and short drive to local beaches. A good 30+ min walk to Mwnt beach and need to be good on your feet, not suitable to buggies unless you follow the road.

Watching the ducks on the small lake and like the smell of nature, and if you like quirky, this is the place to stay. Remember this is next to a working farm.

Disliked Found the noise with working farm noise at end of day from cows but did quieten down when dusk feel.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Delightful wild meadow with roaming ducks, cats and hedgehogs. Peaceful and low key. Just enough facilities to add comfort, but retain a natural feel. Small, kind and welcoming.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Large clearly defined pitches, quiet rural setting, friendly owners, picturesque fowl, proximity to a beautiful (though busy) little bay.

Disliked I'm not yet a convert to composting toilets! Though there is one regular WC.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely setting with a great atmosphere. loved the chickens and the ducks + friendly cat. Herons by the pond and herb garden etc. Loved the top of the campsite with its views and standing stone circle of local stone. We had a good pitch near hedge, and grass was level and comfy.
Facilities good - hot water for washing up, a fridge and great tiling in shower sink area. Eggs for sale, and milk from nearby farm. Everything cleaned daily. 1 proper loo + compost loos easy access.

Great position - Cardigan was nice with all useful shops, cheap petrol, pubs with folk music and near to St Dogmaels, Parrog beach, Poppet and of course Mwnt beach. Easy to travel to lots of other interesting and beautiful places.
Helen and Dylan friendly and helpful.

Disliked Farm next door quite noisy at times. Very windy - but that's nobody's fault!
Walk to Mwnt beach great but longer than anticipated and would be an energetic walk back to camp site. Car park only takes coins (or Natonal Trust) £5 for all day, but people are happy to pass on their tickets if you're lucky.

From the manager: Hi Barbara

I am so glad you enjoyed the atmosphere here and enjoyed your stay, despite some challenging gusts of wind!

The many trees that we have planted to form a wind-break & shelter are rapidly growing now, so we hope that this will help more in the future

We hope to see you again sometime.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Mwnt Camping were friendly and obliging. The campsite had all the facilities we needed and the pitches were spread out to give privacy.

Disliked I understand the reason for vehicles not being parked by the tent from an asthetic reason but given the number of camper vans nearby some flexibility over our motorbikes would have been appreciated. Not a big issue though.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your positive comments; I am so pleased that you found the campsite had the facilities you needed and you liked the layout of the pitches.

We do have some pitches that are specifically for vehicles, and these are situated towards the lower end of the site; if you do return I recommend booking a campervan pitch and then you would be welcome to have your vehicles next to you while camping.

We hope to see you again soon.

Local attractions

You’ll want to start (quite possibly immediately upon arrival) with a walk to Mwnt beach, about 20 minutes away on foot. The sandy stretch here is nicely sheltered for swimming, paddleboarding and canoeing – and you can often spot dolphins while you’re sitting on the beach or taking a walk on the Ceredigion Coast Path. If you’d like to up your chances of a close-up audience with the marine mammals, head to New Quay (half an hour’s drive) to join a wildlife-spotting boat trip. For more insights into the local nature, pay a visit to the Welsh Wildlife Centre (20 minutes) – perhaps stopping at Cilgerran Castle (15 minutes) for a sniff of Welsh history at a medieval fortress too. Back to the beach? There are lots more lovely spots to put on your to-visit list around here, including Poppit Sands (15 minutes), Penbryn (20 minutes) and Llangrannog (25 minutes).
