  • Nearly-wild camping with sea views over Cardigan Bay
  • Borth beach five minutes' drive; 15 minutes to Aberystwyth
  • Dog-friendly pitches with access to the Wales Coast Path
Did someone say sea view? They probably did… and that’s because it would be very hard to miss those fabulous views out over Cardigan Bay from Brynbala Farm. Take a quick look at the pics and you’ll see that this gorgeous nearly-wild site is right by the coast, with sea views from most (if not all) pitches. Set up camp here and you may well find you simply want to spend hour after hour staring out to sea – it’s a pretty mesmerising activity, to be fair. But if you can tear yourself away from that, there are plenty of other great ways to fill your time around here, starting with getting out for a walk on the Wales Coast Path, which runs right past the farm. The farm is in a sweet spot on the Ceredigion coast between Borth and Aberystwyth, putting you within easy reach of amenities and activities in both places – it’s a five-minute drive to Borth for a surf beach and a handful of places to eat, or about 15 minutes to bigger Aberystwyth. Turning inland takes you to lots more lovely places for a hike or bike ride, plus the chance to delve underground at Silver Mountain Experience or see red kites up close at Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest. This dog-friendly site is very much geared towards the wild side of life – it’s got drinking water available but that’s it, so you’ll need to bring along anything else that you need (please note there are no toilets or showers available on site; there are amenities for use in Borth if you need them). There’s plenty of space for all your kit on the pitches though, and you’re welcome to set up a gazebo and light a campfire.
