  • Luxury shepherd's huts at a scenic croft close to the NC500 route
  • Beauly town centres 10 minutes' drive; half an hour to Inverness
  • Private outdoor space with wood-fired hot tub for each hut
Luxurious, quiet, cosy, scenic – and well located for a North Coast 500 road trip. If that sounds like all the things you need from a Highlands & Islands place to stay, take a good look at Cnocvann Croft Shepherd Huts. About 10 minutes’ drive from the town of Beauly and around half an hour from Inverness, this adults-only glamping site makes a great base for exploring the area, whether you’re planning to drive the full NC500, take hikes through the stunning scenery or visit local attractions like castles, waterfalls and whisky distilleries. The official start of the NC500 is in Inverness, but you can pick it up nearby if you prefer, and there are plenty of attractive drives and walks to be had closer to home as well. Privacy and peace are the watchwords here, as the huts are set well apart in a private woodland with gorgeous views out over the hills and mountains. Your own little fenced-off outdoor area just outside the hut provides a sheltered space for drinks and meals (perhaps cooked on the barbecue) on the picnic table or evenings spent gazing up into the stars while soaking in your wood-fired hot tub (just the ticket for a romantic night away…) Inside the handbuilt huts, all is cosy, comfortable and convenient, with underfloor heating, a woodburning stove and a kingsize bed alongside handy facilities like wifi, a TV and an ensuite bathroom. There’s also a cleverly designed little kitchen with hob, microwave, fridge and kettle for your morning cuppa. The shops and supermarket in Beauly should be able to provide most of the meal supplies you need, and the town also has several nice places to eat out or get a drink.
