Situated close to the local village of Tomatin just outside the Cairngorms National park, Juniper Lodges is only around 20 minutes drive from Aviemore to the south, or Inverness to the north, making it the ideal location for family's looking to explore the the stunning Scottish highland countryside! In and around Juniper Lodges & Tomatin: ​​ ​​Juniper lodges is surrounded by fields and situated within minutes walking from the River Findhorn. There are plenty of scenic walks surrounding the lodges, where you can go and explore the surrounding Highland countryside. It is worthwhile if you have bikes bringing them along as it can be a very enjoyable area to cycle, particularly when the weather is good! ​As well as being a popular destination for cyclists, bird and wildlife enthusiasts often come up the glen to spot our diverse wildlife including red squirrels, roe, sika and red deer, wild goats, rabbits and hares, pine martin, stoats. There is also wide variety of birds including: pheasants, partridges, red kites, buzzards, peregrine falcons, golden eagles, sand martin, curlew and common sandpipers, woodpecker, oyster catchers, gulls and much more! It is worth heading further up the glen towards Coignafearn where eagles and red deer are more often spotted.
