What a peaceful park this is for Peak District hols – on 11 acres of quiet woodland near the national park and set deep in the Derbyshire countryside with picnic areas peppered all around. And what a pleasing park this is for those who insist on amenities being immaculate and up to date – the toilet and shower block comes with disabled access, baby changing and showers with hot and cold water, and is kept in tiptop condition at all times by the friendly site team. Riddings Wood Holiday Park is a rural park but with easy access to urban centres like Derby and Nottingham as well as to the hikes, bike rides and canters of the Peak District. (If you're a bit bamboozled as to what to do first, have a look at the tourist info point in reception or ask the team for tips.) Campfires are allowed if you need a bit of warming upon return. And finally, what a pint-friendly site Riddings Wood is too – the only thatched-roof pub in Derbyshire, Moulders Arms (aka The Thack), is a short stroll away; and the Seven Stars, a community pub, is just across the road. Aquest càmping ofereix un entorn boscós tranquil amb personal amable i instal·lacions netes, dutxes amb aigua calenta. Em va agradar Was lovely and quiet. Showers and toilets clean. Has Indian food delivered to site which can be reheated in microwave in caravan.

No em va agradar Roads around the site have huge pot holes was an effort to tow caravan up the hill as site not level, is on a hill. Levellers needed.
Area to dispose of waste was out of order, after lugging waste water across the site to empty there was then a sign saying to empty the water in the hedges as it was out of order!

No em va agradar The toilets and shower area was not that clean also smelled damp and toilets were strong in smell.We where told that dogs had to be kept on a lead at all times which ours where. But not every one followed this rules I was walking my old 14 dog when a large dog came running up to me with no lead on .

We are sorry to see that you will not visit again and we wish you well in your future travels.

We do ask guests to keep there dogs on a lead at check in, we were made aware that one guest had let there dog lose and became a abusive to fellow guests, we take rule breaks very seriously as they are for the comfort of all, action was taken as soon as we were made aware and we have now banned that guest from future visits for breaking our simple site rules.

We are pleased to see that you enjoyed our beautiful surroundings and managed to capture our lovely sunrises and sunsets thank you for the amazing photographs you have shared with us. We do hope that we can give you a warm welcome back in the future.

We are aware that the roads need updating and we have plans for re development the site this winter, we will be putting statics on the site, re surfacing and moving the road structure as well as a new reception and barriers.

With regards to the shop/reception there are always staff available during office hours 9-5pm the number is on the door to call if you wanted to come into the shop, unfortunately during the quieter months it is not viable for a team member to be sat in the reception all day as there are some days when nobody comes in that is why we leave number for our guests to call.

Cabana Woodland (jacuzzi, prèmium)

Em va agradar Lovely building and hot tub was perfect

No em va agradar Was a bit noisey from the road traffic. There was no working heating when we arrived and the lady on site couldn’t fix it. Be messing about for an hour we fixed it ourselves ! There was rubbish left under the sink from the previous occupants and the bathroom was very dusty

To the Peak! The Peak District National Park is but a short drive from Riddings Wood Holiday Park, and has a bit of what you fancy for all ages and inclinations. If you're in the area to hike, there are more Peak District trails than you can shake a (walking) stick at, from the shorter treks of seven or so miles around the upper Dove Valley and Pilsbury Castle, to long-distance paths like the Limestone Way (46 miles), the Derwent Valley Heritage Way (55 miles) or the Peak District parts of the Pennine Way, running for 268 miles from the northern Peak District to just inside the Scottish border. Climbers and cavers also delve into all things Peak: thousands of routes for all abilities are all over the park for climbers, including Burcen Edge for beginners and more hair-raising ascents like Debauchery and Mad Dogs and Englishmen for the severely experienced. If you're of a cavernous disposition, make your way to the village of Castleton and its four show caves, Blue John, the Peak, Treak Cliff and Speedwell Cavern with underground boat trip. Matlock Bath has a cable car to take adventurers to limestone caverns The Heights of Abraham, and Poole's Cavern near Buxton has vast caves to explore before an above-surface walk around Buxton Country Park. Other attractions like Chatsworth House and Gardens and the old Crich Tramway are to hand for the historically-minded, alongside old Peak District villages and market towns for tearooms, restaurants, family pubs and lots of shopping: try Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell to start you off. Back at Matlock Bath, let the kids go large at the rides and attractions of theme and play park Gullivers Kingdom for ages two to 13; the 600-acre Matlock Farm Park nearby should keep them busy for a bit too.
