Also...the bar prices were extortionate! £9 for 1 small glass of prosecco is ridiculous!! and totally unaffordable when on holiday with a family, again this really impacted on us using the entertainment area too as it just wasn't affordable in this current financial climate. We were quite disappointed at this tbh.

Our staff work exceptionally hard to bring our customers the best experience possible during their stay at Monkey Tree Holiday Park so it we're always pleased to receive positive feedback such as this.
Our site is predominantly cashless however we do accept cash as payment in the Arcade and the Supermarket. We also have a cash-withdrawal machine at the entrance to the Clubhouse.
The phone signal can be temperamental due to the rural location of the site but this is something we cannot control. Additionally, due to the large area of our park, strong Wi-Fi connectivity throughout is difficult to achieve however our IT Team are in the process of improving our Wi-Fi service for our guests - we hope this will be significantly improved in the near future. Currently, the best place to get strong Wi-Fi would be around the Clubhouse and Reception areas.

The swimming pool booking system is ridiculous. It mentions online you are guaranteed two bookings per stay, however as soon as we arrived we tried to book in a slot and were told the next two days were fully booked, we were then made to wait in the boiling sunshine for 40 minutes with two restless children with no gurantee we would get in.
Charged extra for a drink because the bar staff misheard - ordered a disaronno and coke, she poured a coke and charged me £3, then I asked for the disaronno she charged another £4 and would not allow me to keep the second poured and paid for drink.
The pizza kiosk shut on the third day, told us to wait 30 minutes while they caught up with orders. We then got back in the queue and the staff shut the shutter in my face with no explanation of when/if they would reopen.
Sewage leaking past our tent for two days.
Staff on entry told us one of the cars were not added even though we had paid for this before arriving.
Given wrong items in the shop - they were very good at asking if we had any allergies however after asking for a steak and ale pasty when we got back to our tent we found it was meat and potato.

Our swimming pool does have a booking system in place during busy periods which is in place to ensure that all guests have a chance to use the pool during their stay. After this, you are welcome to use the walk-in queue where there is a good chance we can get you in for that session as we reserve a decent number of slots for walk-ins. We're sorry that we were fully booked for the first 2 days of your stay however we do recommend customers book online in advance via their Monkey Tree Guest Area where you can manage all aspects of your booking. Alternatively, you could have also called us prior to your arrival and we could have made your pool bookings earlier, over the phone, increasing the likelihood of you reserving a spot before all the bookings were filled.
With respect to the issue you experienced with drinks in the bar, after the staff had poured the Coke for £3 and you corrected them to a Disaronno and Coke, the additional £4 you were charged was for adding the alcohol and so the staff would have poured you a new drink with both the soft drink and the alcohol, the price for that cocktail being a total of £7, which would not include the original glass of Coke.
We are sorry to hear you had sewage leaking past your tent for 2 days and we ask that if guests have any issues such as these they raise them as soon as possible with our Reception Team and we will find a solution. In this case we would have been able to allocate you a different pitch and we could have investigated the cause of the leak.
It's great to hear that our Supermarket staff were proactive about possible food allergies and to clarify traditional steak & ale Cornish pasties do contain steak and potatoes as the main ingredients and the ale is contained in the gravy within the pasty.

We have two 7 year olds who can swim but are at an early stage. We had a ratio of 1 adult to 1 child and didn't leave them at any point but on one occasion we're asked to remove them to the shallow area of the pool as they were concerned they wouldn't pass a swim test.
My daughter found this very disheartening and given I was with her continuously and she had been swimming unaided, I felt this was a little over cautious. I do understand they have a job to do though!

Had you raised this problem with us we would have been able to allocate you a different pitch with more suitable conditions.
