1 guest joined his camper to a caravan to a tent and then their friends turned up and joined their tent and caravan to the group.Fire risk was a real threat

The pitch was fine but the one they sent us to first already had someone on which was stressful. Turing a caravan around.

The toilet and shower facilities area was so cold and always wet on the floor. After my shower I had to stand in a pool of water to dry my self which had come from the shower somehow.
Used the washing machine and dryer the washing machine was fine but total waist of time on the dryer did not dry them at all. Spoke to another lady and she said to go to the other block as they r better. But that was after I spent money for nothing.
The day we arrived we went to the shop before closing time but it was closed.
The WiFi was ok but only because we paid £20 for 2 devices for the week that was a lot
Toilets did get cleaned but not enough with all the rain and mud. The male cleaner would just walk in not shouting out first to check if it was ok

Pitch size and location was excellent.
Check in was very easy.
Clubhouse was spacious with affordable food.
Entertainment was good for the kids and ok for adults.
Toilets very clean and showers excellent.

On site shop prices are very high.
Caravan pitches to clubhouse have minimal to no lighting. The light is there but not working so very dark at night.

The bathroom needs to be updated, the handle of the door needed some wd40 which we used and it opened fine

The amount of activities available for children, crazy golf, sand pit, soft play, art hub, play park, basket/foot ball court, arcade, remote control cars/boat tracks. Some activities are payable but there was plenty to keep us entertained and that's not including the stunning pool area that was like something out of a holiday magazine! And the children's entertainment team were so lovely! My boy is very shy and they were so warm and welcoming with him, he almost got up and danced!

The cost of the crazy golf was a little on the expensive side, £7.50 per adult and £5 per child then an extra £10 deposit for the hire of clubs etc.
The shop advertised they sell freshly backed pastries but in the 4 days we were there, they didn't have any on sale. When asked the young lad said they wasn't cooking any today (Sunday)

We had a lovely stay at monkey tree!
We went as an entire family so we had children of all ages and they had so much to do we couldn’t actually get round to doing it all!
The staff were very friendly and helpful , entertainment was brilliant and overall we had such a lovely experience. We’ll definitely be back again soon 🙂

Monkey Tree was a lovely place to stay, with some room for improvement.
Every single member of staff we spoke to was happy, helpful and polite. They all went out of their way if you needed anything.
There are lots of toilet blocks and mini playgrounds dotted around the site.
Despite what some reviews say, we found the whole place to be clean and well maintained. The toilets were cleaned hourly so we rarely paid a visit without seeing a member of staff cleaning
(Thank you to Stan for keeping the toilets spotless during our stay).
We regularly saw the security guys walking and driving around the site which made our stay feel extra safe. Again, they all said hello and were chatty when we saw them. It really made for a lovely, friendly atmosphere.
The pitches are a nice size, although some are much more private and better situated then others. Pot luck for which one you get i suppose but if we were to visit again, we might request certain ones over others if they allow that.
The site is in a very handy place for anyone wanting to explore the area and is easy to find.
There is a shop on site that is well stocked and reasonably priced. I was expecting prices to be above average but they weren't so that was nice to see.

A few things that we think could be improved on.
Despite being a family site, there were no family washing facilities. We visited with a 1 year old and we're expecting some shower rooms that are set up for a family to shower together. We camp a lot and more often then not, sites do have these. I had to wash my daughter in the sinks in the ladies bathroom because there was no way to safely shower with her on my own.
The kids facilities, like pool and soft play, don't open until 10am and close at 5pm. When kids are awake by 7, it would have been really nice to go straight to the pool or play centre for the morning. 10am felt like a long wait and by that time we are up, and ready to go out for the day.
The site has a small, indoor soft play area for kids to access for free. This was good and we spent some time there most day but the climbing frame in there is old and definitely not the safest. There are bits of the metal frame exposed and gaps in the cushioned flooring. There is also a rope bridge that looks very suspiciously held up by some losely tired string.
There are also electronic, arcade type games in the room that don't work.
The prices for food and drink on site were a tad pricey really too.
Lastly, there was a large party staying at the site at the same time as us. This meant that 1 of the bar areas was closed every night of our stay for a 'private function'. The area that was closed is the only one that looks directly at a big, outdoor play park. It would have been nice to be able to use this area on an evening whilst our daughter played on the park. I'm sure a lot of parents would have agreed. We found it very frustrating that noone informed us when we booked that this would be the case.

Park was very clean and tidy, reception helpful, easy book in, nice spacious pitches, toilets were very clean, showers very good

Only two things, for some reason you cannot take dogs into clubhouse ( even outside) after 6 o’clock, I understand during kids holidays etc
But a lot of people had dogs on site and bar areas were empty, lost out on lots of food and drink
The hand driers in the toilets were a waste of time, either put in ones that dry your hands of take out and put in paper towels
