The weather is getting warmer and the walking festival season is just around the corner. There are hundreds of miles of beautiful routes around the UK and outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com has rounded up some of the best sites for walkers looking for the perfect outdoor holiday.

Highlands End Holiday Park offers a great stay for trekkers who are planning to try the South West Coast Path, one of the longest National Trails in England. The Dorset park overlooks the blue waters of Lyme Bay and has bridleway access to the walks along the Jurassic Coast. For a glamping experience, the site has camping pods and first-class facilities including a heated indoor pool, gym, sauna and steam room. What’s more, guests can enjoy all sorts of homemade meals at the Cowshed Café, the park’s bar and restaurant, or enjoy a drink in the outdoor beer garden with children’s play area. Pitchup.com offers pods here from £45 per night.

Solway Holiday Village is ideally located for visitors heading for the Hadrian’s Wall Path or the Northern Lakes and offers a range of comfortable camping stays. Guests at the park can enjoy numerous facilities including a heated indoor pool with spa, family bars, an entertainment complex with Sky Sports, kids’ club, animal farm and all-weather sports facilities. The park has its own tourist train for visitors to travel around and is within walking distance of the Victorian seaside town of Silloth. Nearby, visitors will find 20 miles of coastline to cast off at or try kitesurfing and windsurfing. Pitches start from £20 per night or the site’s three-bedroom lodges start from £338 for a four-night stay.

Larkhill Tipis near Carmarthen is the perfect destination for those planning to explore the Wales Coast Path. The site offers a unique camping experience and has five different nomadic accommodation structures for guests, including a 18-foot tipi, a lavvu tipi, a bentwood yurt, Mongolian ger yurt and an alachigh yurt. What’s more, guests can enjoy the meandering paths dotted with interesting sculptures around the site, a meditation circle with quartz stone, and a seven-ringed labyrinth. The site also has spectacular views overlooking the Teifi Valley. Accommodation starts from £70 per night.

Located on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, Riverside Country Park is a great choice for walkers looking to get onto the Pennine Way. The campsite has plenty of amenities including an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, lounge bar and restaurant with Sky Sports and free wifi, weekend entertainment and a children’s play area. Moreover, guests can potter along the banks of Wooler Water and enjoy activities such as fishing. Tent pitches start from just £7.95 per night or guests can stay in a camping pod from £26.25 per night.
