Mi è piaciuto Very accommodating, everyone from reception, the clubhouse and maintenance were so friendly! Food at the clubhouse was lovely and reasonably priced. Liked that the play area was under cover so even in rain the kids could play. Toilets and showers were clean/well kept and although we didn’t use we appreciated the facilities like airfryer, microwave, fridge/freezer etc being available 😁

Non mi è piaciuto Unfortunately one of the poorest run camp sites we are yet to stay at, for a few reasons that may not affect other campers but did us:
We arrived late afternoon, reception was closed and owners were in the pub, no welcome pack or visit to our tent.
No plugs in the bathrooms for hair appliances.
No surfaces around the sink to put wash bags or clothing.
Two very small ladies showers with mouldy shower curtains.
When we arrived pitch was full of litter
First afternoon setting up there were 5 off lead dogs in the camping field (it's used for the caravan owners to exercise there dogs)
Unable to order pizzas on the Friday night as they had no pizza sauce
The bar man was very poor, no service skills and questioned me needing a glass and some ice and a slice with my bottled coke.
Wifi only works in the pub.
Stayed for 3 nights and didn't once manage to get in the shop as it wasn't open on advertised times.
This camp site is very cliquey with owners friends and family dominating the bar, pool table and seating area, you definitely feel like an outsider.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate that it is often a combination of smaller things that shapes an overall impression of a stay, and it is disappointing to read that on this occasion there were a number of areas where you felt we fell short.

Your comments regarding your arrival, the cleanliness and facilities within the showers, the condition of your pitch and the opening times of the shop have all been noted and will be reviewed. In particular, guests should expect their allocated pitch and our shared facilities to be presented to an acceptable standard, and we are sorry that this was not your experience.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the dogs within the camping field. Dogs should be kept under appropriate control, and we understand how several dogs off lead could be uncomfortable for other guests using the area.

We apologise that pizzas were unavailable during your visit and that your experience at the bar left you disappointed. Regardless of how simple a request may be, we would always expect our guests to be treated in a friendly and welcoming manner.

We are especially sorry to read that you felt like an outsider during your stay. We have a number of long-standing caravan owners who naturally know one another well, but this should never result in touring or camping guests feeling unwelcome or unable to enjoy the facilities. That certainly isn't the experience we would want anyone visiting the park to take away with them.

Thank you again for your honest feedback. While it is disappointing to receive, constructive comments give us the opportunity to identify areas that require attention and improvement.

We are sorry that your stay wasn't the experience you had hoped for and wish you all the very best for your future travels.

Mi è piaciuto We took our daughters here for their first camping experience and honestly couldn't fault the place.

Straight away the staff were all extremely welcoming. The park was clean and well maintained and on arriving at our grass pitch the area was spotless.

Facilities were also great. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there and everything is clean. There are plenty of toys and games for kids near the play park. The bar is great and drink prices are surprisingly cheap.

All in all it was a great stay and I don't think you'd find anything better for the price. We'll definitely be back!

Mi è piaciuto Great site and has pretty much everything needed. Has a small shop on site with a bar which serves food. Nice size pitches and has a great park for kids to play in. Didn’t use the showers which were alongside the toilets in the shipping container. The lady in the shop and the lady behind the bar were absolutely fantastic and so friendly and welcoming. It’s quite even being close to the road you don’t get a massive amount of noise. Quite relaxing place.

Non mi è piaciuto On arrival we had to go to the bar to find the man to book in which seems a little unprofessional. After setting up we went to the bar to ask about food only to be told there wasn’t enough vegetables to complete meals. Then for a large group of “family members” people to arrive and all to be seated and given plates of food. Also I found it absolutely shocking to see several xl bully’s on site. A red one with no muzzle on and hooked to a bench across from its owner (same family group) and a black one it was muzzled and on a lead. There was also a child allowed to run around slapping an older gentleman who told him numerous times to stop whilst the same family did nothing. There was a young man riding a motorcycle around the static caravans with no license plates and no protection on. Children and people just wondered through between where we parked and sat which felt intrusive I understand this instead the parks fault. The bin in the field was overflowing with rubbish. It was emptied the following day but the smell was pretty rancid.

For clarification, our main showers are located at the rear of the clubhouse. The toilets and showers in the container are additional overflow facilities.
We are sorry about the issues you experienced. This year, we have asked owners with larger dogs to muzzle them in communal areas. We have also spoken to families about children using small motorbikes and electric scooters around the park. Some holiday-home owners keep these items in their sheds, but everyone must follow our park rules and the 5 mph speed limit.
We had a member of staff checking and emptying the rubbish daily. However, during exceptionally busy periods, the bins can sometimes fill more quickly than anticipated. As you noted, the bin was emptied the following day, and we are reviewing how we manage waste during our busiest times.
We are also addressing the behaviour and toilet issues you reported. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it gives us the opportunity to investigate and resolve any problems.

Mi è piaciuto We had a great time and the kids loved it. There was lots of space a few area for play set aside.

Covered play area is great for bad weather but also for the extreme heat we’ve had lately.

We had a non electric pitch but there was a kettle, fridge freezer, air fryer provided at the pot wash station which was incredibly handy.

Toilet and showers were clean and spacious.

Would recommend this campsite and will most likely come again next year.

Mi è piaciuto Large pitches, very friendly owners and staff, exceptionally tidy and very clean. Absolutely beautiful area.

The owners have gone above and beyond for kids, providing extra games and toys like swingball, basketball and other toys, alongside the play area they already have. They have also kindly provided a fridge, microwave, air fryer and more for the convenience of guests to use should you wish.
The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained, evening atmosphere in the Bar is great, and it was so good to sit outside our tent in our last night and have the live music going to listen too while the children were sleeping inside. I can not fault this site at all. We could not have picked a better camping site for the children's first camping experience. Thank you so much Paula, Marc, Sue and everyone else for making our stay so enjoyable.

Non mi è piaciuto Nothing to dislike. If I really had to pick id suggest having WiFi available in the wider camp not just the bar as mobile signal is relatively low, but that's being very picky, and there's joy in having a digital detox!

Mi è piaciuto What a wonderful family friendly find!
We have just got home from Chapmanswell, and had a fabulous stay for all the family.
Firstly we were welcomed with a smile by Sue, who showed us to our pitch.
pitch was hard standing with grass and very close to the children's play area, washing up and drinking water facilities, showers, toilets and clubhouse.

The children's play area is just superb! It is undercover, which means it can be enjoyed in all weathers, well kept, safe and fun! There is also a communal green area with loads of toys for the children to enjoy, including trikes, scooters, basketball and net, 2 swing ball sets and ride on cars.
the site was very dog friendly and had a good dog walking field, with a pond with ducks and a football goal in, so much enjoyed by my boys and doggies.

The clubhouse was fun with pool tables, live music and a good range of drinks, sadly we didn't get round to eating in there, but the Sunday lunch smelled delicious!
The showers and toilets had to be the best we've experienced in a campsite. the outside loos were very handy, clean and close to our pitch. The showers and toilets inside the clubhouse were open 24 hours. They were cleaned every morning by a very happy and chatty cleaner, who was very helpful when she suggested I used the family toilet to shower my twin boys. This made life so much easier, we had loads of space, the shower was powerful, not a push button (bonus!) and always warm.

Keith and Paula were very friendly hosts, Keith was busy everyday keeping the site clean and doing any odd jobs. We met a few people who said how helpful he had been to them, and he always said hello with a smile. Paula was very welcoming and made us feel at home.

The location was great, we had a trip to Fowey, only an hour away, and loved being only 30 minutes from Bude. Bude had a very handy park and ride service and is an amazing beach, with a huge and wonderful sea pool, we loved the rock pools, my boys found crabs, shrimps and even a star fish!!

We had so much fun we didn't want to come home, we even stayed an extra night! Needless to say we will be back
