Chapmanswell Caravan Park

A aimé We had a great time and the kids loved it. There was lots of space a few area for play set aside.

Covered play area is great for bad weather but also for the extreme heat we’ve had lately.

We had a non electric pitch but there was a kettle, fridge freezer, air fryer provided at the pot wash station which was incredibly handy.

Toilet and showers were clean and spacious.

Would recommend this campsite and will most likely come again next year.

A aimé Large pitches, very friendly owners and staff, exceptionally tidy and very clean. Absolutely beautiful area.

The owners have gone above and beyond for kids, providing extra games and toys like swingball, basketball and other toys, alongside the play area they already have. They have also kindly provided a fridge, microwave, air fryer and more for the convenience of guests to use should you wish.
The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained, evening atmosphere in the Bar is great, and it was so good to sit outside our tent in our last night and have the live music going to listen too while the children were sleeping inside. I can not fault this site at all. We could not have picked a better camping site for the children's first camping experience. Thank you so much Paula, Marc, Sue and everyone else for making our stay so enjoyable.

N'a pas aimé Nothing to dislike. If I really had to pick id suggest having WiFi available in the wider camp not just the bar as mobile signal is relatively low, but that's being very picky, and there's joy in having a digital detox!

A aimé What a wonderful family friendly find!
We have just got home from Chapmanswell, and had a fabulous stay for all the family.
Firstly we were welcomed with a smile by Sue, who showed us to our pitch.
pitch was hard standing with grass and very close to the children's play area, washing up and drinking water facilities, showers, toilets and clubhouse.

The children's play area is just superb! It is undercover, which means it can be enjoyed in all weathers, well kept, safe and fun! There is also a communal green area with loads of toys for the children to enjoy, including trikes, scooters, basketball and net, 2 swing ball sets and ride on cars.
the site was very dog friendly and had a good dog walking field, with a pond with ducks and a football goal in, so much enjoyed by my boys and doggies.

The clubhouse was fun with pool tables, live music and a good range of drinks, sadly we didn't get round to eating in there, but the Sunday lunch smelled delicious!
The showers and toilets had to be the best we've experienced in a campsite. the outside loos were very handy, clean and close to our pitch. The showers and toilets inside the clubhouse were open 24 hours. They were cleaned every morning by a very happy and chatty cleaner, who was very helpful when she suggested I used the family toilet to shower my twin boys. This made life so much easier, we had loads of space, the shower was powerful, not a push button (bonus!) and always warm.

Keith and Paula were very friendly hosts, Keith was busy everyday keeping the site clean and doing any odd jobs. We met a few people who said how helpful he had been to them, and he always said hello with a smile. Paula was very welcoming and made us feel at home.

The location was great, we had a trip to Fowey, only an hour away, and loved being only 30 minutes from Bude. Bude had a very handy park and ride service and is an amazing beach, with a huge and wonderful sea pool, we loved the rock pools, my boys found crabs, shrimps and even a star fish!!

We had so much fun we didn't want to come home, we even stayed an extra night! Needless to say we will be back

A aimé Pitch was good and level, daytime lovely and peaceful site. If you want the ability to drink through to the early hours then it was a superb site

N'a pas aimé Pitch was close to bar, evenings the local area came in for drinking and got extremely noisy, first night until 3 am. Had to get through large amount of drinking people to get to showers and toilets, some wouldn't move.

We are sorry that you experienced noise during your stay. However, we would like to clarify that our toilets and shower facilities have a separate entrance at the rear of the building, so guests do not need to walk through the bar or past customers to access them. We are sorry if this was not made clear to you during your stay.

A aimé Pitch was level and spacious

Owners and staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations of the area.
Lady behind the bar and her daughter in the shop were also extremely friendly.

N'a pas aimé Toilets and showers need updating, and the pot wash area felt a bit grubby.

Club house is very locals only vibe, parties going on until 1-2am all weekend despite rules saying no noise after 10pm so we left a day early due to not sleeping very well unfortunately.

We’re sorry that some aspects of your stay weren’t to your liking. We do take comments regarding our facilities and cleanliness seriously and will review the points you have raised.
We would, however, like to clarify the comment regarding “parties going on until 1–2am all weekend.” During your stay, one of our holiday caravan owners was celebrating his 60th birthday. This was a special occasion which we explained to guests at the time, and the celebration was open and welcoming to everyone on the park. It was not a private “locals only” event, nor is late-night partying a normal occurrence every weekend.
The Anglers Rest is our on-site clubhouse and is open to holidaymakers, caravan owners and local visitors alike. The bar closes at 12.00am.
In addition, our pot wash facilities are cleaned once a day. We do ask that all users clean up after themselves following use, as the facilities are provided as a shared privilege for all guests to enjoy.
We work hard to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

A aimé Nice spacious site; dog friendly; clean and modern facilities; very welcoming family-run business. And the Angler’s Arms is a lot of fun with very good food and selection of drinks. Great place to stay. Really enjoyed ourselves here.

A aimé The only thing I liked was the entrance in and out

N'a pas aimé Club house have discos every Friday & Sat Night with the music blaring until very late
Then when it's kicking out time you have to put up with sound of drunks continuing there partying till early hours !
The owners do not seem bothered and are only bothered about how much electricity you are using if Camping

Dog Shit in Camping field as everyone is walking there dogs in there and not picking it up even husband of owner
And yet it's not a dog walking area
Little kids haven't play here not very nice for them !!

Toilet and Showers are too far away for campers to get to as they are located at the back of the Clubhouse! Not very safe in the middle of the night and you have a mile walk just to want a wee

We clearly advertise that The Anglers Rest provides music and entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. All clubhouse entertainment finishes and the clubhouse closes by midnight.
We regularly remind guests to clean up after their dogs, and our maintenance team checks the camping and dog-walking fields throughout the day. The site becomes much busier with families and dogs during the summer school holidays, but any mess reported to us is dealt with promptly.
We would also like to clarify that the toilets and showers are approximately 400 yards from the camping field—not a mile away—and the access route is illuminated throughout the night for guests’ safety.
Had these concerns been reported to us during your stay, we would have done our best to address them immediately.

We are sorry to hear that you found your food greasy and that it wasn't to your taste. We always welcome constructive feedback and will pass on your comments to the relevant team.

With regards to entertainment for children, Chapmanswell is a family-friendly touring and camping park, rather than a large holiday resort, and we do not advertise an extensive children's entertainment programme. We do however, provide facilities for children to enjoy, along with plenty of outdoor space.

We appreciate that our park will not suit everyone, particularly guests looking for the larger Holiday park vibe, with children's entertainment and extensive play facilities.
We always try to represent Chapmanswell accurately so that guests can choose the type of holiday that best suits their family.
