Moss Rose Campsite

Me gustó We stayed in the aurora bell tent. Stunning! Camp site was great, plenty of space for our kids to run free. The little play area was perfect for our children. (Aged 2 & 4) Joe the owner came round to talk to us giving us a tour telling us all about the site. The honesty sheds - our kids loved as they were able to get bits. (Mainly sweets as a bribe to be good. Ha) can not fault the site at all!

No me gustó Not a dislike for us. But some may find. Phone signal. We didn’t have any unless near the toilets.
It was nice not to have signal for a day/night!

Me gustó Nice vibe, kept well clean and friendly hosts.

No me gustó Maybe could've had another toilet, but there weren't many people there so it was a big issue.

Me gustó The campsite is fabulous! The pitches are well laid out and plenty big enough for our tent and porch. The privacy of the long grass between each pitch was great.

The facilities are simple but clean and well stocked and the honesty shack is a fantastic touch!

We didn’t get to venture far from the tent because of the weather (typical bank holiday washout!) but we’ll be back to explore next year.

The owners son went above and beyond when we’d ordered a takeaway, he intercepted the delivery driver and brought the food to our tent for us!!

He also spent all weekend giving kids rides on his quad which was just so lovely to watch.

No me gustó The sheer number of slugs was like something out of a horror film 🤣 I’ve honestly never seen so many in one place! Obviously nothing the owners can do about them, but they were annoying when they invaded the tent.

One very inconsiderate camper let their dog bark all night, and given the rule about reduced noise after 10pm (and it was barking into the early hours), I wish someone would have asked them to keep the dog under control.

Me gustó Brilliant site. Really well organised and has everything available in our opinion that you might need. Toilet and shower facilities are lovely and clean. There are all the things you need like your chemical waste, drinking water and washing up facilities (all well kept) plus there is a honesty shop which literally has all sorts of things that you might not even think off plus comforting extras for if you fancy a little treat. They even have the added extras which are just really useful like a freezer on site as well as a microwave and lockers for charging phones etc. The people who run it are lovely and friendly and very welcoming.

Me gustó Lovely site. Good size pitches, well spaced out. Joe and John were very friendly and helpful. Joe in particular went out of his way to ensure we were happy and was fantastic with the kids. 5 year old loved the animals and play area.

Me gustó Extremely friendly and welcoming family-run campsite. Joe went above and beyond to help our kids have a great time, including letting them cuddle the chicks.

The Aurora bell tent was fantastic - really very well blacked-out so we could sleep late in the mornings. It was sturdy and waterproof amid the thunderstorms and torrential rains we endured!

Having a fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine and Honesty shack available was a great help.

No me gustó Would have been helpful to have a slightly larger facilities block with perhaps an extra shower cubicle and a second hand washing sink/vanity area in the ladies.

Me gustó Great site for staying with young children. Staff also very attentive.

Greeted on arrival and checked on several times throughout our stay. Kids had a great time.

Staff regularly checking the facilities throughout the day, everything was always clean.

Me gustó What a cracking little site, a gem of a place. A credit to Joe, Kelly and John.
Only 10 mins drive from Garstang 40 mins from Blackpool. Pretty easy to find in the middle of nowhere down some country roads. It's perfect to come and relax , best of all, very little mobile service (3 network )so zero distractions. You can just about get a signal near the loos.. this does not bother us at all, we had to talk to each other instead of doom scrolling!
Has nice and clean facilities,toilets showers and a toilet disposal drain thing , they clearly care about the customers. They are tentative and really are passionate about the site.

Nice little honesty box with a few items in, feed for the sheep, fresh coffee (coffee pods ) fresh eggs, it's just perfect . That side of it is ran by their young son to teach him the value of money and to start earning a few quid! Cracking idea.
Go and feed the sheep, food near the toilets, drop a couple of quid in!
Loads of bats at night, so good to see, if you like bats I guess?? We did!! That little walk round the perimeter, very very good.
The pitches are big, loads of room, and far enough apart that you do not hear the neighbours.
We live about an hour away, and we will absolutely be back.
