Primitive grass campsite
Liked Such a lovely, well kept place. We had 3 nights here in our tent. The lake was incredible, especially as we got to swim with the friendly fish! The sauna on the Sunday morning was a real treat. Gorgeous surroundings, really close to Ledbury and we can highly recommend a trip to the nearby Sorrel and Sage cafe and Art Gallery. Facilities were clean and the whole place was well looked after.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Fantastic views and the beach is a very short walk through a wooded area. All of the staff were friendly and made sure we were ok. Always someone on hand in case of questions. The showers and toilets were kept spotlessly clean. Fridges and freezers were available, and we made use of the nearby cafe. Loved every minute and will be back!
Disliked That we couldn’t stay longer!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful site, loved the animals, the view, the cafe, the bar and the cider. Really friendly welcome from all staff. Loved it and we’ll definitely be back!
Disliked It was very noisy on our first night - two groups of people talking and playing music until gone 1am until we asked them to stop.
I know the owners have no control over this, but maybe in their welcome pack they could say no noise after 11pm? I’ve found this works with other campsites we’ve stayed at.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked Beautiful surroundings and extremely well maintained pitches. Richard the owner was friendly and welcoming, and the area is stunning. Went for walks and bike rides and the village of Elham is lovely. Folkestone and Hythe are nearby - very highly recommended. The loos and shower are basic but clean and there’s even a fridge to keep buts cold which was a bonus.
Disliked That we couldn’t stay longer :(

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Amazing views and great service. The site is unmanned but Alice is just a phone call away. There was an issue with the showers and she was fixing them within minutes of us texting. The loos are compost loos so if you don’t fancy those this isn’t the site for you but if you want incredible views and peace and quiet with minimum fuss - you’ll love it!
Disliked It was a bit windy being on top of the hill but that didn’t worry us

Liked Warm welcome from Lisa. Loved how the site was laid out and the pitches were massive! The self serve coffee caravan is a brilliant idea as was the pop up bar.
Disliked We were only able to stay one night :(

Liked Beautiful views, quiet and plenty of space. Great to stay on a working farm while they were harvesting. More than happy to answer our questions and let us watch what was going on. Paul the owner was friendly and checked in on us to make sure we were happy with everything. We’ll be back!
Disliked Nothing - all great!

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked It’s a relaxed campsite with a friendly welcome. The ground is flat and drains really well. We had heavy rain but it didn’t seem to affect the site at all.
It’s in a good location for exploring the area especially Lepe Country Park which we loved.
Disliked It’s very basic so be prepared. We didn’t expect portaloos and portashowers though they were kept clean. Plus take a torch to the loo as there is no lighting after dark.

Mega camping pod (no pets)
Liked Very clean site, the toilets and showers were spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. Small but well stocked shop on site was a blessing. Very quiet at night. Short walk to The Gate pub where the food was fabulous although you do have to take your life in your hands crossing the A47!
We loved staying in one of the pods. It was so cosy and we felt very spoilt having a telly while camping!
Disliked Only a small gripe, but we all each commented how the showers although lovely and hot, didn't stay on for very long. A bit annoying when trying to wash my hair...but other than that everything else was lovely!

Powered grass campsite
Liked Great pool area and loved The Hayloft bar/restaurant. It was lovely to sit there in the evening after a long day out. The surroundings are stunning, the site really is nestled in the rolling Devon hills. Highly recommend the walk to Stoke Gabriel for crabbing and a coffee at the cafe. Perfectly located for trips into Paignton, Babbacombe, Torquay and Brixham.
Disliked Only booking 5 days...wish it had been longer. Also, only 3 showers where we were and the ladies showers were hot but not very powerful. Hubby was more than happy with the ones in the men’s bathroom.

Woolacombe, Devon, England
Powered grass campsite
Liked Great toilets and hot showers. Close to Woolacoombe beach and Tarka Trail. Fantastic pub opposite with the best carvery ever!!
Disliked We were pitched next to a main road which was very noisy. This made it difficult to sleep. In fact we have more peaceful sleeps at home so not what we were expecting.

From the manager: we have removed all roadside pitches from booking sites,so you would have had an internal pitch, but as we are on the main road into woolacombe, just 1.5 miles away traffic during the busy periods is at times noisy,...it seems to be a very subjective point and disturbs some more than others, so for the enlightenment of future guests i would think this is a helpful review thank you .

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Our first stay at this site, we were welcomed by the owner and told to pitch up and get comfy before coming to pay. The site has a well equipped play area for kids as well as table tennis, pool and table football. My son made friends fast and spent his time at the play area leaving us to relax. The site is quiet, well laid and out and maintained to a high standard. The showers were hot an powerful and scrupulously clean. The owners were friendly and helpful, will definitely return.
Disliked There was nothing that we disliked about the site.

Electric grass pitch - optional electric
Liked The friendly owners, the fact it was quiet and we felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Loved the TV in the gazebo which meant we got to see the Paralympic opening ceremony and being able to build a fire in one of the firepits.
Disliked The rain! :)
