Site

General

  • On ten acres of parkland on the outskirts of King's Lynn
  • Eco-friendly amenities including family room and disabled provision
  • Within five minutes' drive of a 24-hour supermarket

Fancy taking your folk to Norfolk? Got a yen for the Fens? Check out King’s Lynn Caravan and Camping Park, where the manicured, spacious pitches are nuzzled into ten acres of established emerald parkland on the outskirts of King’s Lynn.

A swanky, eco-friendly block houses the free hot showers, toilets and vanity cubicles (there’s also a roomy family bathroom and very good disabled provision), plus facilities for washing up and laundry, and freezers for ice packs.

Guests can pick up the basics from the small shop within the reception area, but the site is in any case well-served for local amenities: there’s a big 24-hour supermarket five minutes’ drive away, and a variety of top-notch hostelries and eateries where you can sample the local ale and cuisine (plus a few of the more well-known child-friendly/takeaway chains within easy driving distance).

The access was good from main routes. The flatness of the pitches made pitching up extremely easy. The toilets and showers were really nice modern and clean. Good choice in the site shop.

    Disliked:

Having to wait almost ten minutes when we got there before we could book in had to ring the intercom/bell several times before somebody came. If we hadn't already paid we would probably have driven away and found somewhere else.however the gentleman was very apologetic he had been busy around the site and had forgotten to take the buzzer with him 😀😀 glad we didn't drive away

We were put in rally field not 5 star. One water tap for whole field and no waste water emptying point. Good job we were near entrance and didn’t have far to go pity those on the other side of field. Electric point was too far away to plug in and had to put through fence and use one that was luckily vacant.

From the manager...

We are a little bit confused by your comments. We have had over 300 reviews in the last 18 months and not one person has ever said any of the photos are deceiving. None of the photos that we have uploaded have been edited in any way. There are over 170 photos attached to our listing, most of which have been submitted by guests staying here. Please could you clarify which photos you find deceiving and what makes you think the field that you were in is not 5 star? Nearly every one of the 300 reviews on this listing stayed in the same field as yourself. The only guests that didn’t were ones that wanted to be near the play area if possible. The site was graded by both the AA and the Official Tourist board in the last 3 months and for the eighth year running, was awarded 5 star by both organisations. Your pitch was 40 metres from the emptying point and 30 metres either way from two water taps. We could happily put more emptying points around the site, even more water taps, but if you speak to most of our guests (over 50% of our customers are repeat customers) – when we ask them if they would like an emptying point closer to their pitch, the overwhelming majority say no, the main one isn’t too far away and people don’t want to be too close to someone emptying their chemical toilet. As for drinking water, a maximum walk of 80 metres from the furthest point in the field isn’t really a great distance. People are given a choice of pitch when pitching. If you saw how many times water taps were backed into by caravans, then you may understand our reluctance to add more. The site has 9 outdoor water taps in total. Nearly all of the electric points are dotted around the field with no more than 20 metres in between each point meaning a standard caravan lead will sufficiently reach the nearest point. Your pitch was within 10 metres of the nearest electrical point. If you brought the incorrect electrical lead, then all you had to do was ask and we could have let you borrow one of ours. If the field was as bad as you make out, it’s strange you wanted to stay on much later in the day for free. If you had told us you were having problems, we would have happily tried to help you.
