Lovely site, 2nd visit

Oct 2026

Liked Great site for the town and Black Mountains. Friendly site managers, modern toilet and shower block and uniquely, a drying room and £1 operated dishwasher😀

Disliked For the men, the Shower block does not have any hand wash basins for shaving, they were in the toilets. Would not stop me using the site again.

Great site with TLC needed on access road

Jun 2026

Liked this is probably my fifth stay at Greenacres, modern facilities and with easy access to the Forest and Coleford. Pitch 14 used to be susceptible to being water logged but the new gravel pitch is brilliant. Staff always welcoming.

Disliked Wish the access road would be given some TLC. Its steep and pot holed and has been that way for as long as i can remember

From the manager: Hi Dave, thanks for your review. We are really pleased to say the new drive is getting closer! The planning application to create a completely new drive to replace the existing has been in for some time and the decision is imminent. The new drive will be less steep, straighter and have no pot holes. We are super excited about it - it has been a long time coming but we had to prioritise the water treatment plant, the cabin build etc before we could do the drive. We look forward to welcoming you when it is done. Please keep and eye on our social media for updates. Best regards Maureen & Andy

Beautiful surroundings with benefit of a fantastic onsite cafe

Feb 2026

Liked set is the gorgeous Edale valley this camp has the best views I have seen for a while. It has a modern shower and toilet block and a lovely cafe and general store. Surprised to get strong 5g signal but there was free wifi too. The Nags head pub has a good choice of food and is on the doorstep of the camp. The Ramblers Inn too. 8mins walk away Will be back later in the season

Disliked The slope of the hardstanding pitch was too much for my chocks to create a level camp and the grass for the tent had a noticable slope. Other pitches looked better. While i had no issue with mens facilities or unisex showers, my Partner said women's toilets not kept clean.

Jul 2025

Liked Before arriving I was a little anxious about the proximity of the camp to the lake but it was only a 10min walk with the kajak. The site was lovely with modern shower and toilet facilities. Only had to queue for one of the 3 showers once. No drama Our medium pitch, 15 was perfect for the van/awning combo and was reasonably level and in a nice secluded part of the camp. Prefer this site given its proximity to the shops and cafes of Bala. All within a 20min walk.

Disliked The pitch was lovely but shaded from the evening sun. Felt a little overlooked by the RVs opposite but that would not stop me asking for pitch 15 on a return visit. it made me giggle a little that the washing up sinks are built on slope meaning two are nearly at chest height but the other two are normal height.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and glad that you enjoyed your pitch and our shower facilities. We are a busy site and sometimes everybody decides to have a shower at the same time which will cause a queue! The sinks are created for all heights, just pick your side!! Kind Regards Team PYB

Great staging camp for Scotland

May 2025

Liked This is a great camp for onward trips to Scotland. This was my third visit to the camp. Reception and staff super friendly and well provisioned shop. An added bonus of a pizza to pitch delivery service

Disliked Camp would score a 10 if it were not for unisex shower and toilet facilities. Well advertised as so but just a personal dislike. Wont stop me using the camp though

Great camp for onward trips to Mull

May 2025

Lovely site with a warm welcome

Aug 2024

Liked The warm and friendly welcome at reception set the tone for a lovely couple of nights. The site is well laid out with flat pitches and is situated about a mile out of town in some gorgeous countryside. Showers and toilets modern and very clean. enjoyed the sunset over the hills and a walk at the back of the camp amongst the fields and woods.

Disliked Traffic noise noticeable during the day but not at night and anyway the proximity of the road made access to the site super easy. Would have liked a little on site shop but got all I needed in town.

From the manager: Dear Dave, Thank you for your review, we enjoyed having you stay here with us. We loved your hammock, that's the way to travel and relax! We will work on the on site shop for your next visit :-) Best wishes, Lisa, Paula (the welcoming team), Rob & Peter (the builders) + Boris (the over friendly Parson Russell) xx

Lovely site, shame about Cheddar

Jun 2024

Liked This is a great site with lovely facilities, a nice layout and close proximity to Cheddar village and its shops and pubs. The manager was very welcoming and I had a good stay on the camp.

Disliked No criticisms of the Camp whatsoever but I think Cheddar has been blighted by the Quarry works and commercialism around the Gorge. Could not walk to the Reservoir by my planned route because of the constant number of lorries using very narrow back lanes. The walk down the Gorge road was great up until the point you arrived at the Caves. The UK has a habit of spoiling beauty.
