Chorley, Lancashire, England
Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked A lovely spot near the charming town of Chorley. Very clean toilets and a washing up area.
Disliked During our stay (at the end off July) our camper van was invaded by flies. I think they were attracted to the warmth in the van. So my advise is keep your doors shut!

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely spot on the hills over Sowerby Bridge. Thai Massage parlour on site but didn't take advantage as my wife catered for my needs. You can catch a bus into Sowerby town.

Liked Grant who welcomed me was a nice friendly guy and he explained where everything was. You can truly have the "Wild camp" experience in woodland opposite the farm house, campfire to boot. Previous campers have left camp fires for others to use and you can buy a crate of kiln dried wood with cardboard and kindling to get you setup. Very enjoyable although my first morning I was met with a swarm of midges but they soon buggered off.
Disliked The shower block let the place down a bit. The shower itself was fine but there was no hooks or a bench to put your clean clothes and towel on so they ended up on the floor. Also there was no running water from the sink which was full of dead flies and midges. Instead there was a hand sanitiser and an outdoor tap for fresh drinking water
