Primitive grass campsite
Liked Good location for Mam Tor and Edale, secluded as well. Decent facilities. Family-run site and a food option in the evening.
Disliked Could be more facilities for the size of the site. Couldn't take a shower as I didn't know I needed £1 coin to shower, maybe I missed it but after a day of hiking, would've loved a shower! Queue for ladies loo in the morning, so time it right! Facilities could do with a deep clean and a bit of TLC but generally were okay. Would have liked some enforcement of noise after a reasonable 10:30pm, i luckily had noise cancelling earbuds but could still hear music through them. Lots of fires being had right after the wildfire warning, so a check on whether people were being sensible would've eased my worries going to sleep and 6+ fires on the go!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Stayed for a weekend and loved the site. Friendly owners and the site itself feels safe. Brilliant facilities, some of the best we've seen camping, icnluson a fridge and indoor washing up.
Nice and peaceful site that is well located and easily accessible. Don't forget your earplugs to save you from the plane noise, though! Only downside.
Disliked Planes, but this can be mitigated.

Primitive grass tent campsite (small)
Liked I felt safe and welcome, the site is mainly families with young children and the noise rules are kept to. Great facilities, kept clean and nice throughout the stay. Very close to the town and beach, only a short walk. Wheelbarrows to help you get stuff from the car. Nice pitches. Golf games if you fancy it. Could charge my power bank, very slowly, but this was very useful. Fridges for everyone's use, too.
Disliked Cash only, which seems to be a conspiracy theorist and political stance than solely tax avoidance (which I've no problem with but felt a bit odd and I'd left my purse at home and it made me feel like I'd done something abhorrent..) Some passive aggressiveness in signage, which is seemingly an extension of the owner, again fine but again, a little odd.. or 'quirky'. Generally, not enough to negatively impact my stay but I'd ask why it's necessary.

From the manager: Thanks for your positive review Jessica - I appreciate you taking the time! In answer to the signeage I woud say it was simply informational. People are not being warned of the dangers of a cashless society. When your spending is controled by government it shall one day soon become conditional - you can buy bread, you cannot buy chocolate - and there shall be no alternative. It is the duty of everyone who understands this trap we appear to be blindly walking in to to do their best to enlighten others who haven't seen the danger, and that is why the signs and the effort of keeping cash transactions alive. It's not a conspiracy threory but, once it is brought to your attention, an obvious fact. 'Card declined' shall one day rule your life if you aren't very careful!

Liked Large, open space. Lovely owners, great entertainment on Saturday night and facilities were decent. Close to Bournemouth beaches and local shops
Disliked Showers were good but could do with a couple more if possible

From the manager: Hi Jessica, thank you for the lovely review 🥰 We totally agree about the showers & we have them ready as soon as we get another (or stronger) water feed 💦 as it is we tried but there's not enough water pressure to run extra showers... Soon (we hope) ☺️🏕️

Liked Lovely, spacious, peaceful field in a good location. Friendly owners, very helpful and polite and wanted to make sure my stay was good. Washing up facilities good and clean, too. Facilities were good considering it's a campsite, kept clean and water was warm. I enjoyed seeing wildlife including deer and birds. If you're sensitive to noise at night / early morning, bring some earplugs as the wildlife lets you know they're there! Felt safe as a solo female camper and enjoyed my four nights here.
Disliked Remember to take your lantern when using the shower / loo facilities as it can be quite dark. Male and female loos are one small trailer so you can feel .. close .. to other guests at times. Nothing major, though.

From the manager: Thank you Jessica and so glad you enjoyed your stay. While we make it clear we have no electric in the field, we do have push button battery lights in all the showers and loos. We wanted to provide campers with proper flushing loos and our trailer offers four loos with basins, mirrors, etc. This is our first year and over the winter, we'll be taking on board all of your valuable comments and working out how we can enhance everything for next year. Thank you for your feedback - it's all important.
Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, England
Meadow powered grass tent campsite
Liked We really enjoyed our stay and now have high expectations for campsites! The owners are friendly and approachable and clearly work very hard to maintain the site. Great facilities, the shower and toilets are clean, spacious and good quality. Felt very safe and secure as there's a limited number of pitches with good security. It's a short drive to swanage and Bournemouth or Poole, so plenty to keep busy with, a great base to travel round a beautiful part of the country. There was good shade in the hot weekend we stayed. All washing up equipment provided (bring your own tearowel only) which was great. Guests work together to keep the facilities clean which benefits everyone.
Disliked Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to road noise. Also, you must drive everywhere, we did expect to be able to walk to the village, as the description mentions a 'short walk' but this isn't safe, so be happy to drive. Getting back for 10pm was restricting at times but we understand why this in place which benefited us with regards to security.
