Coming to Catalonia and hoping to spend a good deal of time on the beach? Book in at Camping El Toro Azul and you’ll be able to stroll out onto the sand whenever you fancy it – this family-friendly touring site in Arenys de Mar has direct access to Cavalló beach. This is a nifty location indeed for a beach break – the area just by the site is pretty peaceful and suitable for laidback family days, but it’s easy to stroll a little further along to the section by the marina, which has a good cluster of restaurants and bars, along with watersports centres for paddleboarding, kayaking, jetskiing and the like. The centre of town is also easily walkable (about 20 minutes) for shops and more places to eat and drink. The beach may well be the main focus here, but it’s not your only option for a day of activity – the mountainous area just inland is great for hiking and cycling, and days out in Barcelona can be on the cards too (the city is about 40 minutes’ drive away, or a little over an hour by train). Whether you ever get to Barcelona is another matter of course… in fact, this site is very conducive to lazy days pottering between the beach, the open-air pool and the on-site restaurant and bar – perhaps with the odd detour to the play park or the pétanque court if you’ve got active kids with you. On the practical side, facilities like showers (with constant hot water), a laundry service and wifi should mean everything runs smoothly during your holiday.

Liked Close to beach and a lovely restaurant by the sites entrance. Staff in reception were welcoming and helpful. Other lovely restaurants along the beach outside of the site.

Disliked Staff in poolside bar were rude and not at all welcoming. Actually put us off ordering from there. Lots of loud music and shouting/screaming from groups of teenage boys around the pool. Description states it is a quiet site after 11pm but large gangs of kids hanging around the toilet block until well after midnight. They were regularly running in and out of the toilets screaming and shouting. Toilets and showers were not cleaned regularly enough and were grubby. Photos of site are misleading, there is a high orange wall around most of the campsite and the pitches are small and crammed together. Feels like you’re in a prison yard. Also, the train track is right alongside the wall of the site, so lots of noise throughout the day and night. Not many shops or any life near the site.

We regret that your experience with the poolside bar staff and the nighttime atmosphere did not meet your expectations.

Liked La propreté du camping en général et des sanitaires quand ils ne sont pas souillés par certaines personnes.
Sa localisation et la possibilité de prendre facilement le train pour se déplacer à Barcelone

Disliked Si vous cherchez un camping calme et respectueux ce n’est pas celui-ci.
Impossible d’utiliser correctement les sanitaires en soirée avec des ados et pré-ados qui monopolisent les sanitaires quand ils ne les dégradent pas et ne respectent pas les autres. Quand ils ne passent pas leur temps à courir dans tout le camping en hurlant jusqu’à pas d’heure. Et le pire c’est que le vol dans votre véhicule ou tente est faisable, nous en avons été victime et quand vous en faites part, le propriétaire du camping ne prend même pas la peine de venir vous voir ou autre , contrairement à son personnel qui a été très à l’écoute et nous a aider pour le dépôt de plainte.

Local attractions

Beach and watersports may well fill much of your time, but it’s worth noting there are more activity options close by as well – perhaps you’d like a game of tennis (five minutes’ walk), a round of golf (15 minutes’ drive) or the chance to clamber up into the trees at Activ Natura Parc d’Aventura (20 minutes). Walks, too – the Parc del Montnegre i el Corredor (20 minutes) is a lovely place for a stroll among coastal woodlands, with several Neolithic and Iberian historic sites to look out for along the way. Arty types may like to follow the sculpture trail at Bosc Artístic d’Ernest Borràs i Berta Julivert (25 minutes), while more intrepid visitors go further inland to the mountains around Montseny (45 minutes). Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Reception is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. between 01/09 and 12/10.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
Open fires are prohibited.

Sites

A cable measuring at least 2 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
Sites: a €10.00 ($10.83) deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.
Tents are not accepted at this park.
You must follow management instructions when setting up your tent/rig and related equipment.

Vehicles
