What customers say

Great location near beaches & villages. Peaceful, nice pitches, friendly staff. Clean facilities, hot showers. Downsides: extra fees for showers/Wi-Fi, off-site check-in, and limited kid amenities.

Powered grass campsite

Liked There was space around the tent pitches, lots of area infront for children to play freely. It is a very quiet site. Showers were a £1 token for 8 minutes, (which I huffed at, when told) Hot and Powerful and 8 minutes is plenty of time. Showers and toilets were spotless. This site is mainly static caravans and so there is not high use of showers and toilets. 15/20 minute (fit adult) walk to the beach, which is lovely. There is a bar, cafe and Ice cream shop at the beach. The staff were all lovely. The Warden went ablove and beyond when we realised the box with pump for tent, pegs and all had been left behind. With his help, and some fellow campers we got sorted. He even came back to check on us and thanked the other campers for assisting.

Disliked No shop on site, not walkable in to town, I thought I had booked the main site, nearer town. You have to go to Main site when you arrive and then drive about 4 miles to this site. Not allowed Fire Pits ( totally understand they should be off the ground etc, possible insurance issues), the only reason we possibly would not come back, we love a fire of an evening.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The site, the staff, position to the beach, level pitch.

Disliked Toilet block. Dislike is a strong word, id say id prefer it to be more modern. Wifi, having to pay for it. Showers having to pay for it. I knew about the wifi and shower when I booked but I do think in this day and age these shouldn't be charged extra.

Local attractions

For many visitors, a trip to Anglesey is all about the coast – and you’ll be nicely placed to explore plenty of that when you stay at Melin Rhos Caravan Park. Beyond your nearest beaches (Lligwy and Moelfre) it’s also easy to get to family favourite Benllech beach (five minutes’ drive) and historic Porth Wen (15 minutes) with its remnants of industrial buildings, or to cross the island to places like Rhosneigr and Newborough (both 35 minutes). Sticking to the coastline, you could also visit the unfinished Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes), known as ‘the greatest castle never built’, or book a boat trip with RibRide (25 minutes) to see the birds on Puffin Island. Other days out? How about a walk through the amazing colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain Copper Mine (10 minutes), meeting the butterflies and other mini beasts at Pili Palas Nature World (20 minutes) or heading over the Menai Bridge to try the adventure activities at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (35 minutes)?
