The north coast of Anglesey is a wonderful location for a seaside holiday – and even better when it’s at Melin Rhos Caravan Park, a peaceful holiday park that’s only a 20-minute walk from the splendidly sandy Lligwy beach. Being so close to the beach means you’ll be able to wander up there whenever you feel like it for a stroll through the dunes, a bit of watersports action (windsurfing and kitesurfing are often good here) or an afternoon playing on the sand with the kids. Lligwy is a dog-friendly beach as well, so you can bring your four-legged pals along for a good run around and a paddle if you like. Also conveniently close by is the village of Moelfre, with another beach, a shop, a pub and a couple of cafés – it’s about five minutes’ drive from the site. Beyond that, places like Benllech beach and Parys Mountain are handily nearby for outings (both within 15 minutes’ drive) and there are heaps of great walks around, either on the Anglesey Coast Path or along inland trails. As this park is set a little way back from the shoreline, it’s nicely sheltered from any coastal winds – particularly good news for guests hoping to light a barbecue or set up awnings on their pitch. Facilities on site have all the basics covered – you’ll have access to toilets, token-operated hot showers and a washing-up area, along with a paid wifi service.

Càmping tranquil i ben cuidat, a prop d'una platja bonica (15-20 min caminant). Parcel·les espaioses, instal·lacions bones. Personal amable, amb atenció especial als guardes. Alguns assenyalen blocs de lavabos antics, però dutxes calentes. Cobram per dutxes/wifi; valor mixt. Check-in a uns km del camp principal.

No em va agradar The toilet block needs an update . Not nice toilet and shower. You need to pay for using the shower and pay 5 pounds for WiFi.

Em va agradar Absolutely loved Melin Rhos. Staff are wonderful very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful site with lovely spotless clean showers and toilets and very well kept pitches. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back. We think we've found a little gem.

Em va agradar Very quiet site . Nicely laid out as there are 2 different areas for touring so you have a green in front of you . About an 8 minute walk to the beach through the site over the river up through the next door site and turn left down country lane to access Ligwy beach.

No em va agradar WiFi was awful and you could by WiFi but people said it still wasn’t good. Showers were ok and always clean but had to buy coins £1 for each shower which can be an e or de o top if you have a family of say 4

Em va agradar An easy walk to the beach and coast path.
Washing up area was clean and freshly painted.

No em va agradar I found the toilet block (male) to be sub standard for today. Have to buy shower tokens . Think this is a bit mean. Shower and toilet doors had cheap nasty shed bolts. Can be sharp and will have fecal matter on them.
Tiling was old and grout was crumbling. The washing up room next door was lovely so why have they not upgraded the male wash room?
Wouldn’t rush back with so many other campsites available.
Need to buy WiFi as coverage is low. Hit and miss with bought WiFi!
We did have a good time even if I sound a bit grumpy!

Em va agradar We stayed at this site and had a lovely time.

Wilson (the Warden) was fantastic — really helpful when we wanted to extend our stay by a few nights, went out of his way to sort it for us, and was full of great local knowledge. He made us feel very welcome from the start.

We actually got our booking mixed up and turned up at the site instead of checking in elsewhere first — completely our fault for not reading the email properly! The gentleman on the phone couldn't have been more understanding, and rather than making us drive the 4 miles to him, he just took payment over the phone. Really appreciated that.

The showers were brilliant: 8 minutes of lovely hot, powerful water, and spotlessly clean.

The camping ground itself is flat, well maintained, and peacefully quiet. We especially loved that there were two separate camping areas rather than one big open field — it felt secluded and tucked away in nature, which made the whole stay feel that bit more special.

We'll definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay!

Em va agradar Quiet. Good location. Nice clean showers.

No em va agradar WiFi. We paid for a week but phone said it was not safe. Also signal very weak. Also expensive for a week.

Em va agradar The site including the shower block was very clean . The showers were hot and powerful. A short walk takes you to a lovely beach and beach cafe.
Booking in was easy and contact details supplied. I would highly recommend.

No em va agradar There was no shop on site so the nearest shops ( co-op , Tesco and Spa ) were a short drive.

Em va agradar Very nice campsite , toilet/shower block very clean , staff helpful and friendly .
We arrived at the camp and I discovered we hadn’t brought any tent pegs 🤣 , I phoned reception and they asked the warden too drop pegs off , which was very kind of them and appreciated , I would stay there again

For many visitors, a trip to Anglesey is all about the coast – and you’ll be nicely placed to explore plenty of that when you stay at Melin Rhos Caravan Park. Beyond your nearest beaches (Lligwy and Moelfre) it’s also easy to get to family favourite Benllech beach (five minutes’ drive) and historic Porth Wen (15 minutes) with its remnants of industrial buildings, or to cross the island to places like Rhosneigr and Newborough (both 35 minutes). Sticking to the coastline, you could also visit the unfinished Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes), known as ‘the greatest castle never built’, or book a boat trip with RibRide (25 minutes) to see the birds on Puffin Island. Other days out? How about a walk through the amazing colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain Copper Mine (10 minutes), meeting the butterflies and other mini beasts at Pili Palas Nature World (20 minutes) or heading over the Menai Bridge to try the adventure activities at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (35 minutes)?
