Settle in for friendly stays at The Crown Inn, a site welcoming kids and adults in the grounds of a traditional country pub. It's 10 minutes’ drive from the Wiltshire market town of Devizes with views of the Saint Mary of the Virgin church spire from its green grounds. In the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, this dog-friendly place is well located for scenic hikes and rambles among historical sites and hilly countryside: within five minutes, join the 13-mile Wansdyke Path towards Marlborough or follow the long-distance track along the Kennet and Avon Canal that connects Bristol and Reading. On wanders hereabouts, keep eyes to the hillsides… some within an easy trot are home to ancient white horses – chalk horses, that is. The White Horses of Devizes and Alton Barnes are roughly 10 minutes away and the famed Westbury White Horse is within 35 minutes. Effort-free days on site are very much in order too – fill up on local eats in the pub then nurse a drink in the beer garden while the kids play or get to know the friendly goats. The pub is pretty popular, so booking is essential. Two 24-hour outdoor toilets, combined with a shower, are on site, and accessed by key code (please note these can get busy at peak times when the pub facilities are not open). You'll also have access to drinking water and a washing-up sink.

Liked We had a fantastic stay at The Crown Inn, Bishops Cannings! We literally live 10mins away but felt like we could have been anywhere.
Myself, Husband, kiddos (girls age 6 & 7) and dog thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We played lots of games, had dinner in the pub on both nights, went to the Maize Maze at Lower fields Farm and cycled along the canal all the way to Honeystreet for the floating fayre!
The kids could safely run around and explore without any worry. The goats were an added extra!
Thanks for great stay, We will definitely return! 🏕️🏕️🏕️

Liked Colin and Karen were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and although we only stayed one night we had a great time and it was an ideal stop over for us.

Liked We did a 1 nighter in tents. The site is run and attached to lovely friendly country pub.
Food and beer all on point.
Landlord a really nice guy.
Loos and shower behind pub.

Liked Little hidden gem of a site close to and between Avebury & Devizes. Flat and spacious to pitches (pick your own pitch). Peaceful location on field adjacent to pub and church. Very cute goat & chicken pen in the beer garden. Individual loo/shower rooms were very spacious and well equipped with lovely hot showers. Plentiful full english breakfasts available as well as tasty evening meals at reasonable prices. Bus passes by the site regularly for short ride into either Avebury or Devizes. Pub has regular live music at weekends. Friendly and helpful owners, very keen their guests have everything to make for an enjoyable stay. They've only been there a year and are planning even more improvments. Top notch, thank you for your hospitality!

Liked We really enjoyed our one night stay. Lovely quiet location with the added bonus of the pub! Friendly welcome on arrival, with a BBQ in the evening. Cooked buffet breakfast on a Saturday morning was an unexpected bonus.. The 2 washrooms are fine and v clean, but the key code entry is tricky at night. Great walks nearby for four legged friends. Will definitely be back!

There’s no need to venture far for local attractions when settling in at this site: it’s a five-minute drive to spots like the Avebury Stones circle, the prehistoric artificial chalk mound of Silbury Hill and the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum. Travelling a touch further – around 10 minutes – will get you to the market town of Devizes with its castle, museum and brewery plus a whole host of shops and restaurants; Bowood House and Gardens, on the other hand, is 20 minutes’ drive for wanders around a Grade I listed Georgian country house and its 100 acres of pretty parkland. Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the pub.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Extras

A charge of £5.00 ($6.68) applies for the use of the shower.
Motorcycle(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
