Thinking of a holiday in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset? We bet you’re thinking seaside resort, beach and a Grand Pier – which are indeed among our favourite Weston-super-Mare things. But the town is also the home of the famous Helicopter Museum, which is the town’s biggest indoor attraction and the only helicopter museum in Britain; take a trip there in July for its annual International HeliDays.
And Weston-super-mare is also the birthplace of Monty Python comic John Cleese, which means that silly walks along the promenade are pretty much mandatory. (This is even more essential if you have teenagers along to embarrass; take them to Scallys or the Back Bar later for some live music to make it up to them, or let them loose at T4 on the Beach.)
