Daisy Farm
Peaceful farm site
Well-planted site
Hello donkey

  • Peaceful adults-only site on a welcoming and family-run Somerset farm
  • Burnham-on-Sea 10 minutes’ drive; Cheddar Gorge and Caves 20 minutes
  • Pubs within 20 minutes’ walk and a village store within 10 minutes
Time for some serious adults-only downtime in gorgeous and peaceful Somerset countryside? Haste ye to family-run Daisy Farm, a site 10 minutes’ drive from Highbridge in Somerset, which has simple facilities including a couple of showers, toilets and a washing-up sink. The grass pitches are on a fourth-generation, family-run working farm, with a dairy herd grazing right next to the camping field and curious donkeys to befriend as well. Dogs are welcome, and your canine companions can look forward to lots of exercise on country walks. Please just keep them under tight control while on site. Fancy a change of scenery? Leave the car behind at your pitch and amble along the quiet Somerset lanes to a couple of local pubs (both around 20 minutes’ walk), which serve outstanding food. There’s also a village store 10 minutes’ walk away selling artisan produce. The coast isn’t far away either: from Daisy Farm, it’s 10 minutes’ drive to Burnham-on-Sea, where there’s a long, sandy beach and a golf course. Cheddar Gorge and Caves, on the edge of the Mendip Hills National Landscape, are 20 minutes by car to the north.

What customers say

Peaceful, well-kept site with spacious spots. Friendly owners, clean restrooms, cute donkeys & farm shop are highlights. Distant M5 noise is minimal for most. Basic amenities are usually fine, but some ask for more. Easy M5 access and nearby attractions are a plus.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice quiet, if busy site & nice location. Plenty of space on the hardstand pitches but needed an extra extension cable for ehu. Adequate showers & toilets which were very clean & tidy.

Disliked It's a working farm, so you get countryside smells (par for the course) but apart from that, nothing to dislike.

Liked Stayed in the CAMC CL a lovely large field with water point to fill up and electric posts at the pitch. Only stayed a night as a last minute booking as we needed a place to stay after having an alarm fitted to our new motorhome so it was the first place we have stayed and it was lovely and peaceful yet a short distance from the the motorway.

Site has an open shed with waste drop off and recycling and elsan point. We noticed there is also a shower and toilet but we didn't use them.

Would stay here again if in the area.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Large pitches. Free WiFi. Clean amenities. A warm welcome and Austin and Annabel went the extra mile to help our stay be a success.
Two pubs and a shop within walking distance.

Disliked No shade and cattle on the field next to our pitch which seemed to attract more flies.
I think the field could have a hedge windbreak in the middle of the field as it did get windy most evenings.

Local attractions

When a day at the beach beckons, the long sandy stretch at Burnham-on-Sea beach (10 minutes’ drive) is your closest option; you can play a round of golf on the links course nearby. If you want a hearty dog walk along the shoreline, park up at Berrow Beach (15 minutes) and stroll along the sands to the wreck of the SS Nornen, which ran aground during a storm in 1897.
Turning inland, you can join subterranean tours of the millennia-old caves at Cheddar Gorge (20 minutes) to see towering stalagmites and stalactites, and learn about the ancient inhabitants of the caverns at the adjacent Museum of Prehistory. You can also hike trails through the gorge itself, or go hardcore and climb its steep sides on fixed lines.
If you’re after a few bargains, Clarks Village (25 minutes) is a designer outlet centre with upscale stores. You can also buy jewellery and hand-printed textiles at indie boutiques in Glastonbury (also 25 minutes) – while you’re there, have a look round the peaceful abbey and maybe stretch your legs with a stroll up Glastonbury Tor for views over the Somerset Levels.
