Staying in your kitted-out bell tent with plenty of space on this eight-acre meadow site; you’ll have Studland Bay, Corfe Castle and Durdle Door all around half an hour’s drive away. The site supplies mattresses and sheets, so just bring along your own bedding and you're set… Based on a smallholding and set up by a couple who’ve camped and glamped under the stars all over the world, this family-friendly site is designed to tick as many hassle-free holiday boxes as possible. You might even catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife including rabbits, deer and the more domesticated free-range ducks and chickens. If you'd like to go out for an easy meal there’s a pub within five minutes’ walk of the site. A convenience store, fish and chip shop and other local amenities are five minutes’ drive away in Corfe Mullen village. For day trips, being this close to all of Dorset’s highlights will give you a must-see list as long as your arm. Close by you can visit the diverse landscapes of Arne Nature Reserve (25 minutes’ drive), overlooking Poole Harbour dotted with islands. And just round the headland, the sandy expanse of Studland Bay (30 minutes). To the west, the whole of the area of Dorset known as the Isle of Purbeck, including a substantial stretch of the Jurassic Coast, is drivable within 45 minutes. To the east, you can get to the towns of Poole and Bournemouth in 20 minutes. Liked We loved everything about this place. Perfect location. The facilities were spot on, with toilets, hot showers and a covered outdoor kitchen, with plenty of fridges, freezers, microwave and kettle.

Purbeck bell tent (four person, comfort)

Liked The bell tent was amazing! So spacious and a really good temperature. Beds were really comfy. The host was great and the facilities in the shared area were great. Loved having a picnic bench too. Overall it was really good and we will be back.

Disliked Nothing major but would have been good to have a nice walk right from the campsite or a slightly more rural location but there is a nearby pub and a lovely food van.

Liked Loved the whole place. Me and my girls really enjoyed our little night away. Was actually the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Location was great with a pub 4/5 min walk away.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We had a fantastic stay! The campsite is only around 20 minutes from the beach, and there’s a lovely pub just a 2-minute walk away, which was really convenient.

The manager was incredibly responsive and accommodating, even checking in with us by email after we’d arrived to make sure everything was okay. The pitch was a great size for our tent, and the campsite offered excellent value for money.

The facilities were clean and well maintained, with lovely hot showers, good amenities, and even a fridge for campers to use. We stayed in a tent and slept like babies!

Thank you for such a great stay—we’d happily come back and would definitely recommend it to others.

Footpaths and cycle routes crisscross the county, just pick the sights you want to ogle at and get plotting. Corfe Castle (20 minutes’ drive), Old Harry Rocks (30 minutes), Lulworth Cove (30 minutes) and Durdle Door (35 minutes) are some of the top spots to aim for.
