Dorset Glamping Fields: Glamping fun for all the family

General

  • Glamping bell tents on a family-run smallholding near Corfe Mullen
  • Corfe Castle, Studland Bay and Jurassic Coast within 30 minutes' drive
  • Barbecue firepits available; pub and shop five minutes' drive

Fairy lights, bunting and proper beds – a classic comfy camping experience awaits guests at Dorset Glamping Fields. Staying in your kitted-out bell tent with plenty of space on this eight-acre meadow site, you’ll have Studland Bay, Corfe Castle and Durdle Door all around half an hour’s drive away.

Based on a smallholding and set up by a couple who’ve camped and glamped under the stars all over the world, this family-friendly site is designed to tick as many hassle-free holiday boxes as possible. You might even catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife including rabbits, deer and the more domesticated free-range ducks and chickens.

Each party is able to rent a firepit for a spot of campfire cooking. If you prefer to pick up an easy meal there’s a pub within five minutes’ walk and a convenience store, fish and chip shop and other local amenities five minutes’ drive away in Corfe Mullen village.

For day trips, being this close to all of Dorset’s highlights will give you a must-see list as long as your arm. Close by you can visit the diverse landscapes of Arne Nature Reserve (25 minutes’ drive), overlooking Poole Harbour dotted with islands. And just round the headland, the sandy expanse of Studland Bay (30 minutes).

To the west, the whole of the area of Dorset known as the Isle of Purbeck, including a substantial stretch of the Jurassic Coast, is drivable within 45 minutes. To the east, you can get to the towns of Poole and Bournemouth in 20 minutes. Castles and coves, steam railways and stately homes, pretty villages and adventurous activities – see how much you can squeeze into your stay…

Wow what a great little campsite, liked that they supply fridges and freezers which is a big help when camping, electric points with a kettle and microwave and washing up facillites. Friendly owners come see us when we turned up to tell us about there facilities they have and anything we need then just give them a ring and they would be happy to help. Tent was a very good size and had fairy lights on which like nice in the dark and able to see the tent, showers were clean and run very well with good pressure and very hot water, toilets are compost toilets which are really clean. Will definitely be returning again in the future also a nice little pub within walking distance.

Tent was clean and spacious. Thick carpet on the ground which made it feel more cosy. Mattresses were comfy. Tents were spaced apart over a large camping ground. Lots of space in fridges and there was a microwave, kettle and charging points in the communal kitchen space. The tents all come with a fire pit where you can light your own fire. However, to rent a grill to put over the fire pit for a barbecue is a £10 charge.

    Disliked:

For the price point and the fact that it is marketed as glamping, the facilities were quite basic. The toilets were composting toilets (albeit clean) and general facilities could have been more high quality.

The bell tent was a good size for three people. Toilets and showers were clean and easy to use. Having an area to charge your phone with a kettle and fridges to store food was also really useful. Our tent was near the car park and the other facilities - some of the other tents looked like they were quite far away (request Tent 1, it's the best). Even through a thunderstorm and heavy rain, the tent stayed dry inside. Really pleased with our stay.
