Fairy lights, bunting and proper beds – a classic comfy camping experience awaits guests at Dorset Glamping Fields. Staying in your kitted-out bell tent with plenty of space on this eight-acre meadow site; you’ll have Studland Bay, Corfe Castle and Durdle Door all around half an hour’s drive away. The site supplies mattresses and sheets, so just bring along your own bedding and you're set… Based on a smallholding and set up by a couple who’ve camped and glamped under the stars all over the world, this family-friendly site is designed to tick as many hassle-free holiday boxes as possible. You might even catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife including rabbits, deer and the more domesticated free-range ducks and chickens. If you'd like to go out for an easy meal there’s a pub within five minutes’ walk of the site. A convenience store, fish and chip shop and other local amenities are five minutes’ drive away in Corfe Mullen village. For day trips, being this close to all of Dorset’s highlights will give you a must-see list as long as your arm. Close by you can visit the diverse landscapes of Arne Nature Reserve (25 minutes’ drive), overlooking Poole Harbour dotted with islands. And just round the headland, the sandy expanse of Studland Bay (30 minutes). To the west, the whole of the area of Dorset known as the Isle of Purbeck, including a substantial stretch of the Jurassic Coast, is drivable within 45 minutes. To the east, you can get to the towns of Poole and Bournemouth in 20 minutes. Great spot for a peaceful escape! Praised for its natural beauty, handy pub and beach access, and good value. Facilities are clean, with hot showers, charging points, and a communal kitchen. Some minor points: slugs, composting loos, and a past shower temp issue now fixed. Signage could be better. Highly recommended!

Liked Loved the whole place. Me and my girls really enjoyed our little night away. Was actually the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Location was great with a pub 4/5 min walk away.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked We had a fantastic stay! The campsite is only around 20 minutes from the beach, and there’s a lovely pub just a 2-minute walk away, which was really convenient.

The manager was incredibly responsive and accommodating, even checking in with us by email after we’d arrived to make sure everything was okay. The pitch was a great size for our tent, and the campsite offered excellent value for money.

The facilities were clean and well maintained, with lovely hot showers, good amenities, and even a fridge for campers to use. We stayed in a tent and slept like babies!

Thank you for such a great stay—we’d happily come back and would definitely recommend it to others.

Dorset Emperor bell tent (four person, deluxe)

Liked The bell tent was fab, the beds were incredibly comfy and laid out really well. We found it all very clean and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Disliked Showers were only cold yet the facilities included said hot/cold showers.

I wanted to reach out and personally apologise as we do offer hot and cold showers. Guests relish using them. We were informed by a guest that they'd experienced cold water and we attended. And find the gas had run out, so immediately replaced it.

Dorset’s brilliant combo of coast and countryside means you won’t be short on outdoorsy activities. Footpaths and cycle routes crisscross the county, just pick the sights you want to ogle at and get plotting. Corfe Castle (20 minutes’ drive), Old Harry Rocks (30 minutes), Lulworth Cove (30 minutes) and Durdle Door (35 minutes) are some of the top spots to aim for. To get out on the water, check out canoe and boat hire options in Poole (10 minutes) and Wareham (15 minutes). Lessons, tours and trips for sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding can be arranged all along the coast as well as coasteering and rock climbing to make the most of the area’s imposing cliffs. Searches show up plenty of options in Swanage, Lulworth and Studland Bay. To keep the kids happy (and anyone else who fancies a slightly less energetic day out), animal entertainments are on hand at Monkey World (20 minutes’ drive) or Sea Life Centre Weymouth (40 minutes).
