Spacious grass pitches

General

  • Peaceful park in a secluded valley in the South Downs National Park
  • Hidden away and far from traffic noise
  • Many local walks and village with good pub a short walk away

Despite its name, guests at Brocklands Farm are highly unlikely to be badgered by anyone during their stay... This simple and peaceful site near Petersfield in the South Downs National Park keeps its pitch numbers low so guests can have plenty of space. It's secluded from traffic noise, in a lush green valley surrounded by lovely walks.

The on-site facilities are limited to chemical waste disposal and a drinking water supply, but it’s an easy walk to the village of West Meon, where there’s a pub that serves grub, an award-winning butcher and a well-stocked community shop.

The pitches are grassy and fairly level; rally groups and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Please note

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

    Peaceful quiet site, helpful owner.
Excellent walks to local pubs using dis-used railway track.
    Beautiful views across open countryside.
Facilities are very basic & take you back to early days of camping but still enjoyable.

    Disliked:

Nothing really to dislike so long as you're not expecting 5* rating.
Some difficulty in getting caravans/motorhomes level due to sloping land.

Fantastic little spot only a few miles from home. We took our two dogs and the site goes directly onto the old railway lines which is now the Moan Valley Trail and goes for miles. Perfect spot for a nights get away or longer so peaceful. Great little spot will definitely use again.

Being adult only it was very quiet, so relaxing. A small woodland was great for letting our dog run free, very secure as the whole site is enclosed. There is a dog wash but didn’t need it as surprisingly it wasn’t muddy at all. Fish n chip van on Saturday tea time, perfect 👌 shower block was lovely all though a tad busy as only 1 block open but not a problem for me as I’m an early riser! Great access to the New Forest and Moors Valley minutes away. Can’t wait to return x

From the manager...

This is a delightful review but is not about our site. We are not adult only, and although we welcome dogs nowhere is enclosed. Neither do we have a shower block. However we are very peaceful and definitely relaxing!

About 500 metres south of the village of West Meon, turn into entrance. Keep straight ahead leaving farm buildings to your right and continue up a concrete track and under a bridge. The site is just under the disused railway bridge.

Local attractions

The tree-lined former railway line that runs next to Brocklands is an excellent starting point for rambles and cycle rides; a popular destination a couple of miles away is Old Winchester Hill, a nature reserve with an Iron Age Hill fort. is also very handy for the South Downs Way, for those who want to walk or pedal further afield.

The Watercress Line heritage railway, which runs from New Alresford to Alton, is another lovely way to explore the Hampshire countryside; or if you prefer to stay put, you could always park yourself in a scenic spot at the Moorhen Trout Fishery up the road.

For a fulfilling day trip, wend your way to winsome Winchester: if you’re lucky, you may catch the famous choir in action within the splendour of the 900-year-old cathedral; other visitor attractions in this charming and compact city include a range of excellent museums, castle ruins, and an Arthurian round table, plus fab restaurants and independent shops.

Chi-chi Chichester is another pleasant place to while away a day, or you could head to Portsmouth to take a harbour tour and visit the historic dockyards, where HMS Victory and the Mary Rose are among the tiptop naval exhibits on display.
