Spacious grass pitches

General

  • Spacious pitches in a secluded valley in the South Downs National Park
  • Hidden away and far from traffic noise
  • Many local walks and village with good pub a short walk away

Despite its name, guests at Brocklands Farm are highly unlikely to be badgered by anyone during their stay... This simple and peaceful site near Petersfield in the South Downs National Park keeps its pitch numbers low so guests can have plenty of space. It's secluded from traffic noise, in a lush green valley surrounded by lovely walks.

The on-site facilities are limited to chemical waste disposal and a drinking water supply, but it’s an easy walk to the village of West Meon, where there’s a pub that serves grub, an award-winning butcher and a well-stocked community shop.

The spacious pitches here are grassy and fairly level; rally groups and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Please note

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, customers can amend their dates with the campsite/holiday park free of charge for all stays up to, and including, 12/31/2021.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

The owners, the beautiful fields and surroundings, the country walks, peaceful, the pitch area is great, nice grass not sparse, slight slope but easily level enough to cope, you have a clear view in front and behind, other campers are a gd distance either side, 2 water tsps, bins at entrance, and private enclosed waste point, great for bike's, old rail cycle route at side of the campsite, hardcore drive all the way up to site. village 15min walk, shop and pub/ food, Petersfield 6 mls away for supermarket/ shops/ banks etc, that's it ! basic site, but value for money, booked 3 nights and stayed 6 lol, thats me happy, will be back !

If you want a quiet night away from it all, this is the spot. We booked online and pitched up about and hour and half later, pick a spot, fill with water, done. We walked the fifteen mins to the Thomas Lord pub down the disused railway line and had the obligatory pint (or was it two). Loved it and will be back.

Just a strip for caravans, not fields, bit slopey for a tent.

From the manager...

Thank you for taking the trouble to review us. We are definitely a caravan site and not a camping site, as we do not have any facilities for campers although we are happy to welcome them if they have their own toilets.
The pitches are variable, and I have a feeling that you chose the end that is less flat.
I am glad you enjoyed the view. The site does not have the whole field but as you say is a strip along one side of one, with access to the farm and the Meon Valley Trail.
I can only apologise about the bins. Biffa have been extremely unreliable in emptying them this year, and if they do not come I am completely unable to clear them. I have been enormously grateful to many of our visitors who have taken their rubbish home with them when I have not been able to persuade Biffa to return on a different day and empty them.

Local attractions

The tree-lined former railway line that runs next to Brocklands is an excellent starting point for rambles and cycle rides; a popular destination a couple of miles away is Old Winchester Hill, a nature reserve with an Iron Age Hill fort. is also very handy for the South Downs Way, for those who want to walk or pedal further afield.

The Watercress Line heritage railway, which runs from New Alresford to Alton, is another lovely way to explore the Hampshire countryside; or if you prefer to stay put, you could always park yourself in a scenic spot at the Moorhen Trout Fishery up the road.

For a fulfilling day trip, wend your way to winsome Winchester: if you’re lucky, you may catch the famous choir in action within the splendour of the 900-year-old cathedral; other visitor attractions in this charming and compact city include a range of excellent museums, castle ruins, and an Arthurian round table, plus fab restaurants and independent shops.

Chi-chi Chichester is another pleasant place to while away a day, or you could head to Portsmouth to take a harbour tour and visit the historic dockyards, where HMS Victory and the Mary Rose are among the tiptop naval exhibits on display.
