  • Quiet family-run site five minutes’ drive from Tattenhall in Cheshire
  • Shropshire Union Canal five minutes’ drive and Chester 20 minutes
  • Wildlife pond and walks on site; pubs and shops five minutes’ drive
Set in 20 rural acres on the Cheshire Plain and five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tattenhall, Manor Farm Caravan Park is a small family-owned site with pitches sheltered by high hedges and trees. It’s a peaceful spot that’s something of a wildlife haven; you might wake up to the chirping of birds and the sight of playful wild rabbits scuttling around the fields. Keep your eyes open at dusk to see if you can spot ducks and geese settling for the night around the ponds, or hedgehogs foraging for food. Tattenhall has its fair share of half-timbered cottages and indie shops, plus pubs, restaurants and takeaways if you’re wanting someone else to do the legwork as far as food is concerned. When you’re looking for outdoor adventures, head for Delamere Forest for walks and bike rides, while Chester (both 20 minutes’ drive) makes a great cultural day out. Facilities have been kept to a minimum so as not to disturb the wildlife, but all the pitches have an electric hook-up. There are also spotless showers with loads of hot water to go round, and a covered washing-up sink.

What customers say

This well-kept, spacious, and peaceful campground has friendly, helpful owners. Level pitches offer ample room. Facilities, including showers and restrooms, are consistently reported as very clean. A large dog walking field and nearby attractions are popular. Some guests noted potential future improvements to the restroom building and minor issues with electric hook-up during peak usage, though these are being addressed.

Liked Quiet and peaceful. Friendly manager. Plenty of space between campers.

Disliked Key code on the toilet block because I have a weak bladder. Showers were quite cold in the cubicle I used.

Robin powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Very welcoming staff. Willing to help if they can. Was taken to our pitch and given the choice between 2. We didnt have a dog but the dog walking field over the back was huge. We booked before they
Changed to adult only and our 5 year old loved it. The toilet/shower block was clean and the having the farm shop/cafe onsite made the morning of leaving so much easier and having cambers there too ideal if you have forgot anything or need something whilst staying. The cafe food was amazing staff were also friendly and helpful.

Disliked Disappointed it has changed to adults only. We said as we left would 100% stop there again due to location of the ice cream farm and chester zoo being 20 minutes away.

Local attractions

When it comes to keeping younger kids happy, they should be well pleased by a visit to The Ice Cream Farm (five minutes’ drive), where they can run riot on the play areas, join craft workshops and choose their favourite ice-cream flavours. Chester Zoo (15 minutes) is always a popular choice for the chance to see elephants, giraffes and rare rhinos. The handsome city of Chester (20 minutes) itself makes a great day out, thanks to rambles around its Roman/medieval walls. You can also join guided walks around The Rows, a series of half-timbered Tudor-era buildings, and climb the tower at the medieval cathedral. Closer to home, Tattenhall (five minutes) is a historic village with lots of black-and-white architecture to admire. If you’re keen to get out and about in the Cheshire countryside, head to Delamere Forest (20 minutes) and its labyrinth of walking, horse-riding and cycling trails. You can also enjoy family adventures along the Shropshire Union Canal (five minutes), join the Sandstone Trail for woodland jaunts or play a round of golf (both 10 minutes).
