What customers say
Sunnyside is a beautiful, peaceful campground with spacious, well-kept sites and a back-to-basics approach. Guests rave about the friendly owners, Sally and Richard, the natural setting with wildflower meadows and wildlife, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and an honesty shop. While facilities are generally clean, showers can be temperamental and sometimes require payment. Perfect for those seeking peace and nature.

Ps re your rating 6/10 for value for money..
We hope our guests understand that because are so small we can’t compete with the prices of ‘just a field with no facilities’ or big commercial sites unfortunately.
We price per pitch which includes two people. If you are a single person it will be less cost effective for you.
However if you are a single camper (with no vehicle) we will give you 10% off (a free shower/£1) - please do enquire on arrival!
Also it is mid peak season now.. Our prices are a little bit cheaper per night in early and late season - In May/June/Sept or October, so you might wish to come camping then?
The current non peak prices are just £20 per pitch - working out at £10 per person per night. And £25 per night or £12.50 each (for two people at peak season. * price may change next year!
We understand we are more than a budget site, but hope that the low density, quiet and friendly site that we offer is well worth it!
Plus there are all the optional extras such as free tea/coffee/squash, an electric kettle, free charge points, fridge/freezers, washing up liquid, lovely ‘faith in nature’ hand soaps, hot water, a library, local maps & info, table tennis & outdoor games, hammocks, recycling & rubbish disposal, delicious food offerings at weekends (homemade cake, breakfast baps, monthly pizza nights) and a convenient and well stocked on site ‘honesty’ shop.
We really do appreciate our customers support and work really hard to ensure our prices are affordable. We think that what we offer here at Sunnyside Campsite is actually something very special and unique.
So yes, we are not the cheapest, but I do think we are very good value for money!
Many thanks! 🥰

Ideal for my birdwatching trips to Minsmere.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Peaceful, well placed for visits to Minsmere.
Low density of occupancy.
Lovely sunsets.
Disliked Shower flooded floor. Could be insufficient shower provision if fully booked.

From the manager: Thanks for camping Graham.
We are very small site and offer a back to basics experience.
Any excess water from the shower can be swept out of the door (as per the notice) It’s a rustic thing!
Even at height of peak season the facilities are adequate. If any guests are concerned about this then we recommend you book at non peak times - mid week in May, June, Sept or October.
Future guests please note that if you want lots of showers and toilet facilities please book a different campsite!
This is such a beautiful campsite,…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This is such a beautiful campsite, it is taken care of so well and guests are always made to feel welcome. Sally and Richard go above and beyond to make everyone's stay as good as it can possibly be. This is my 3rd stay here and I look forward to going back again soon. It is all the seemingly small touches, like flowers in the shower and toilet, milk and tea available, hot water, everything lovely and clean, there is so much thought gone into everything.

Nice small quiet campsite. Footpath out…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Nice small quiet campsite. Footpath out of the campsite and another just a few metres up the quiet road. So, great base for walking and cycling.
Disliked Occasional wait for shower or toilet early morning.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for staying and for your review.
We are sorry to hear you disliked having to wait occasionally for the shower.
We are a very small, back to basics campsite, so the facilities are limited! We try to make the best with what we have and are grateful to guests who appreciate the rustic vibe!
Best wishes,
Sally 🌞

Lovely spot and not too busy.…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely spot and not too busy. The chair to watch the sunset was spot on and the whole vibe was very relaxed. The store was also supper useful with a fridge and freezer for guests along with lots of essentials including chocolate to buy! We were on our cycles and highly recommend the site.
Disliked Just to make it clear you need a pound coin for the hot water.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for staying!
Hot water is freely available at the washing up sink and wash basins, plus there’s an electric kettle in the store. But Yes! £1 coin is required to operate the shower.
Cyclists - please let us know if you are a single cyclist (with no vehicle) and we’ll give you a £1 for a complimentary shower!
Best wishes,
Sally & Richard 🌞
