Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Really well-maintained site, pitches large, flat, and kept neat. Friendly welcome, shown to area we could choose a pitch. Lovely and quiet. Facilities very clean, warm and spacious. On Wednesdays there is a motorbike gathering which was noisy for a while in the evening. Otherwise we really enjoyed staying there, stayed an extra night and would definitely stay again.

Cabin (hot tub)

Liked: Our premium lodge Honeysuckle was immaculately presented. Set back in a large field next to woodlands. The woodfired hot tub was lovely. We had plenty of logs to last 5 days. The fishing ponds and surrounding areas are very well maintained. Lots of good fishing in well stocked ponds. All the fish we caught looked healthy. There is a nice dog walking area that runs by the side of the site. The toilet facilities were clean and brightly lit at night. We had a very hearty breakfast at the Hubbles Cafe on site. All the staff at Fendicks were very friendly and hardworking, nothing was too much trouble. The bar 'Rondos' on site was welcoming, serving a good selection of drinks. We liked it so much we booked an extra night in The Suffolk Horn shepherd's hut. A very cute accommodation for 2. Equally as immaculate as Honeysuckle.

Disliked: Very dark at night when coming home from the bar when walking by the lake. A couple of solar lights may help but not to many as that will spoil the overall feel. Remember to bring a torch.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Great location, peaceful site and amazingly clean toilet facilities.

Disliked: We were delighted to be pitched next to one of the lakes as the view from our tent door was fabulous however the night fishermen who were just outside our door talked quite loudly all night for both nights we stayed! The water pressure was very poor so when we went for showers on our last evening we were unable to have them at all as only dribbles of water came out, all resolved by the following morning however.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.
