Summer time camping at Alton village
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked The location is great , we wanted to be on the edge of the Peak District to go hiking daily & explore, the views are lovely from the campsite and the sheep & alpaca were cute. It’s a nice sized campsite not too big and it’s well organised , toilet / shower block was clean & tidy. I loved the walk way around the campsite so you could walk a big loop with your dog.
Disliked I think the toilet / shower block is too small for this site , 2 showers & 2 toilets x 2 for men & women so 4 in all , is not enough , I even waited until 11 pm at night and still had to wait to use the shower , I’d like to be able to chose our pitch but the staff were not on site that day , we needed shade for our dog it was a really warm week which was not expected. We wanted the pitch next to us which was annoying as no one was on it for our whole stay. Unfortunately the night before we left 3 tents with 3 families arrived and they were really noisy , staying up late talking and up early with kids screaming & shouting
A shame because everyone else was lovely.

Close to Alton Towers for a short break
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked Nice play area, small animals in farm, clean toilets, very close to Alton Towers and lovely local walk.
Disliked Facilities were not fantastic, but they were adequate for a short break.
Freezer was very small and did not freeze our blocks. The play park was nice , but small and a bit run down, suited a 6yr old for short periods.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (super)
Liked Site was secure & well maintained. Quiet site, good pitch & facilities. We were also able to borrow an electric hook up lead as ours was too short. Very close to Alton where both the Bridge House & Talbot were great to drink & eat at. Also the Denstone Hall Farm Shop & Tavern in Denstone were worth a visit

Liked Out of all places I have been too! This has so be one of the best!
I soloed here for the weekend, its quite clean and showers after a long hike are amazing! The play area is sweet for kids and everyone is friendly. It was that good I’m returning again! Owners really go about and beyond great example campers that also turned up were a little short on their extension cord owners did not hesitate to lone an extra extension.
It’s really really highly maintained with a beautiful view!
So if you are in this way definitely consider this as a great place for the family or for Solo trips!
See you guys again!
Disliked Nothing absolutely brilliant!

We loved it here.
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely quiet site. Great, plenty of space for the kids to play and they loved the animals. Very clean and tidy. Lovely clean showers and toilets. The family shower room was handy too for showering with young children. We stayed here as we were going to Alton Towers- it’s a 5 min drive so the perfect base for a trip to the theme park.
Disliked The push button showers only stay on for a few seconds at a time.
