To Alton Towers! Staffordshire's popular Lower Micklin Touring Park is just five minutes' drive from the whirls and rides of this most exciting theme park to have the kids most excited; you might need a second day there just to make sure you get round the lot... And Lower Micklin is also at the edge of the Peak District and a few miles from Uttoxeter Racecourse for more Staffs holiday happenings. A public footpath walk leads to Alton village and the local pub is half a mile away by footpath or country lane. (Miles of other walks are all around: just look up at the walls on site when you're doing the washing-up: you'll see what's meant by that when you get there...) Lower Micklin is set in 10 acres of grassland with plenty of space for the kids to run around and a one-kilometre track for big folk to walk or jog. It has new heated shower and toilet facilities with free hot water and a family bathroom with toilet, shower, basin and baby changing unit. The park also has rubbish and recycling facilities, covered washing-up sinks with hot water and – a tad more excitement for the sprogs – a ball field with goal posts and a play area with slide, swings and a climbing wall. For Alton eats, local takeaways deliver to the site, and both Alton and Denston close by have food shops and pubs.

Spick and span, chill campsite with heaps of room and close to Alton Towers. Staff are legends, atmosphere's a ripper, and the alpacas get a special mention! Showers are a bit short and the Wi-Fi can be dodgy, but most reckon it's a top spot for a getaway.

Liked Really friendly and help full.
Given a slip at the start with all info you'll need about property.
By the washing up/toilet area lots of details about ways to walk around to places safely and near by busses, take-aways, lots of info.
Fantastic place to stay, really enjoyed it.

Disliked nothing
Busy main road which you cant really walk on. However lots of other ways to walk to near by areas which are shown on maps by washing area. Just takes a little longer. But this isnt much of an issue at all.

Disliked Not a dislike as such.
But there is only one shower and toilet block. It was quiet so not a problem for us.

Liked Absolutely loved our stay! Lovely quiet site lovely clean toilets/showers! Literally 5 to 6 minutes drive from Alton Towers. We will definitely be back!

Disliked Nothing at all to dislike about the site.

Liked Toilet block was super clean, hosts were very friendly, all pitches are electric, very convenient site.

Disliked The electric hookup was virtually useless, couldn’t even plug in our electric kettle in, only for phone charging.

Liked Loved everything about it hear. We stayed 2 nights and attended alton towers on 2nd day. Perfect place to stay next to alton towers with a 6min drive to the park. Uber cost £6 there and £8 back.

Facilities all clean, some animals on park such as alpaca, guinea pigs & sheep.

We will be back for sure!
