Grass pitch with water and electricity
One of the spacious hardstanding pitches with water, waste and electricity

  • Small, peaceful touring site with five scenic lakes
  • A 10-minute drive from Retford and 15 minutes from Worksop
  • Play area, shop and restaurant; angling and barbecues permitted
Tote your caravan along to the small, friendly touring site at Torworth Lakes. With five peaceful lakes, a farm shop, a play area and a restaurant, this spot is very well-equipped for anglers, families and outdoorsy folks. Another plus for this park? The location. Surrounded by the Nottinghamshire countryside, it's close to some of Nottinghamshire’s most-visited attractions and a fab base for touring National Trust sites, historic market towns and kids’ adventure centres. Have a chat with the team about the main spots to visit – the staff here have all sorts of smashing suggestions up their sleeves. You could also ask them about places to eat, but don’t be surprised if they recommend the on-site restaurant, which serves up mouth-watering grub, including breakfasts and cakes. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop for grabbing ingredients – think artisan bread, in-season fruit and veg, and locally sourced meat – particularly handy if you’ll be making the most of the fact that barbecues are allowed. Day fishing with purpose-built pegs is also permitted at this park, so anglers can sit down at the well-stocked carp lakes to have a go at reeling in a variety of carp such as tench, barbel, koi, rudd, roach and orfe. Catch one of the biggest specimens, and an award comes in the form of an edible treat. There is one toilet and a separate shower room on site, as well as wifi.

Liked Good peaceful country side location.
Good pitch layout reasonably kept and clean.

Disliked Location and availability of toilet facilities.
There is only one toilet and one shower and these are over on the main building.
I appreciate the site is next to farm land and we did see the odd mouse. But some grass pitches have Rabbit / rodent runs down the length of the tree dividers which is not ideal.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Quite site and friendly staff

Disliked Very worn and not well thought out there was a light post straight in front of our pitch and as we have a long caravan and truck it made it quite awkward to get placed on the gravel lots of back and forth due to poor placement of light post
The chemical toilet point was very basic and smelly.
The grass area was very uneven

Disliked Only fault was the cafe/bar shut at 4 o’clock and stopped food at 3 you can’t check in till 2 so not much chance to sit and eat and drink I did hear a few people complaining about the closing time was way to early and only one outside toilet and shower.
