One of the spacious hardstanding pitches with water, waste and electricity

General

  • Small and serene family-run site with scenic fishing lakes
  • A 10-minute drive from Retford and 15 minutes from Worksop
  • Play area, wifi, shop and café; angling and barbecues permitted

Tote your caravan along to the small and secluded family-run site at Torworth Grange Farm and settle down at a spacious pitch overlooking a selection of lush fishing lakes.

Another plus for this park? The location. Close to some of Nottinghamshire’s most visited attractions, it’s a fab base for touring National Trust sites, historic market towns and kids’ adventure centres. Have a chat with the team about the main spots to visit – the staff here have all sorts of smashing suggestions up their sleeves.

You could also ask them about places to eat, but don’t be surprised if they recommend the on-site café, which serves up mouth-watering grub including breakfasts and cakes. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop for grabbing ingredients – think artisan bread, in-season fruit and veg, and locally sourced meat – particularly handy if you’ll be making the most of the fact barbecues are allowed.

Fishing is also permitted at this park, so anglers can sit down at purpose-built pegs and have a go at reeling in a variety of carp such as tench, barbel, koi, rudd, roach and orfe. Catch one of the biggest specimens and an award comes in the form of an edible treat.

All sorts of caravanning preferences are catered for at this park as a handful of the pitches are enclosed hardstanding options with electric hook-ups, water and waste, while a further few are on grass with electricity and water. Kids have a playground to check out, and wifi is available as well. Please note there's only one toilet and shower on site, so bear this in mind when booking.

Please note

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

Facilities/activities including fishing are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

The laundry facilities are currently closed due to restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak.

Bookings must not be for more than 14 consecutive nights.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The washing-up area is not in operation due to restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak.

Noisy road & filthy toilet!09/18/2020

    Location. Private level pitch.

Noise from train & main road, don't forget to take your earplugs if you want a good night's sleep!
The listing says "showers, washroom & toilets". There is only one shower with a sink for washing in the same room, therefore, can only be used by one person at a time. There is only one toilet for the use of both male & female guests staying on site. This toilet is also used by people using the fishing lakes. There is no hand sanitizer for the use of entertaining or leaving the toilet or shower. The toilet is onldoney cleaned twice a day at 9.00am & 4.00pmour. When I complained about the state of the toilet to a lady in the shop that there was mud over the floor & the inside of the toilet pan was disgusting, there were cobwebs & dirt on the walls & skirting boards. The fact that there are so many people using the one toilet & with covid it needs to be cleaned more than twice a day. Her response was that guests should use their own facilities in their caravans! The laundry/washing up room was no better, the washing machine
& dryer were in desperate need of being replaced. There were dead bugs on the window ledge above the washing-up sink which was in a filthy state, again no hand sanitizer for the use of entertaining or leaving the room. As the owner was on holiday there was no maintenance work done on site, the chemical waste disposal area was blocked through most of our stay. He returned the day before we went home, when I complained to him about the state of the toilet, he was rather arrogant, he's response was that we were lucky the toilet & shower were open! There was a younger gentleman with him who was very understanding, polite & helpful, I'm sure things would be very different if he was the owner!

Lovely quiet site in a lovely location. Really well maintained and looked after. The staff were very friendly and the farm shop / cafe on site was really good and very handy.

    Disliked:

There was only one toilet and shower but saying that we never had to queue and they were always very clean. No path to walk to the nearest town. The road outside was very busy and not good to walk on with small children.
The only other thing was there was no off lead area for dog exercising.
