  • Small, peaceful touring site with five scenic lakes
  • A 10-minute drive from Retford and 15 minutes from Worksop
  • Play area, shop and restaurant; angling and barbecues permitted
Tote your caravan along to the small, friendly touring site at Torworth Lakes. With five peaceful lakes, a farm shop, a play area and a restaurant, this spot is very well-equipped for anglers, families and outdoorsy folks. Another plus for this park? The location. Surrounded by the Nottinghamshire countryside, it's close to some of Nottinghamshire’s most-visited attractions and a fab base for touring National Trust sites, historic market towns and kids’ adventure centres. Have a chat with the team about the main spots to visit – the staff here have all sorts of smashing suggestions up their sleeves. You could also ask them about places to eat, but don’t be surprised if they recommend the on-site restaurant, which serves up mouth-watering grub, including breakfasts and cakes. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop for grabbing ingredients – think artisan bread, in-season fruit and veg, and locally sourced meat – particularly handy if you’ll be making the most of the fact that barbecues are allowed. Day fishing with purpose-built pegs is also permitted at this park, so anglers can sit down at the well-stocked carp lakes to have a go at reeling in a variety of carp such as tench, barbel, koi, rudd, roach and orfe. Catch one of the biggest specimens, and an award comes in the form of an edible treat. There is one toilet and a separate shower room on site, as well as wifi.

Peaceful, spacious pitches with good facilities. Friendly staff, lovely setting, great cafe. Some find toilets a bit far, paths poorly lit, and hear occasional road noise. Many want to return.

Liked Beautiful surroundings. Staff are very friendly. The weather made sitting near the lake watching the world go by very enjoyable.
Bins and water area all very well kept.
Especially liked the fact that the hardstanding pitches were private and separated by hedges.

Disliked Toilets not close to pitches and you would definitely need a good touch.

Liked We stay here a lot, and it’s one of our favourite spots. It’s so peaceful and relaxing.

Disliked It’s a little awkward some times when going to the toilet or showers as it’s right next to the restaurant but it’s not off putting for us.
WiFi doesn’t reach the campsite, again not the worst thing for us.

Liked Lovely spacious and quiet pitches with easy access to the fishing. I loved that the pitches were separated with edging as this made it feel more private.
Great coffee in the restaurant
Staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful.

Disliked The description states there’s a ‘farm shop’ that you can buy produce for BBQs etc. however I found this not to be true as it’s simply a deli counter that sells sausage rolls, quiche and a premade sandwich bags so I really think the description needs changing as it’s definitely not a farm shop.
We were expecting to be able to buy things to cook and instead ended up driving to Retford as it wasn’t available on site as stated.
Toilet really could do with a clean.
