Main entrance into the site

  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; Diddly Squat Farm Shop 15 minutes’ drive
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Lovely friendly welcome when we arrived. Well thought out facilities with clean toilets and showers. Lots of space and sunny field with the option of shade if you want it. Plenty of space for children to ride bikes. Dog walking area handy .. didn't have time to visit the stream. Would definitely book again.

Disliked Maybe pitches could be marked out but not a big issue.

Emma H. 1 review

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Absolute 10/10 Experience!

We have just returned from two nights at Pebbly Barn Campsite in our campervan, and everything was a complete 10/10—from the moment we arrived to the warm welcome onsite from John.

The pitches, toilets, and showers were immaculately clean at all times. The outdoor toilets and showers are a brilliant idea for late-night use after 10 PM. They feel like lovely little beach huts with real sinks and proper toilets, no portaloos

The landscaping across the site is beautiful. We rented a fire pit, and John delivered the fire pit, kindling and logs right to our pitch. John and his daughter also gave us great advice and directions for scenic walks to Chastleton House and the Moreton-in-Marsh village centre.

Our dog loved it too! The walk down to the stream past the beautiful horses is lovely, and having a secure area to let dogs off-lead is a massive plus if your recall isn't 100%.

We will definitely be booking again in the next couple of weeks!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your incredible 10/10 review, Emma!
Reading your review truly made our day. It means so much to hear that every part of your stay, from your warm welcome through to your departure, exceeded your expectations.

We're delighted you enjoyed the freedom to choose your pitch, our immaculate facilities, and the additional outdoor showers and toilets for late-night use. We designed them to offer guests extra convenience while maintaining the same high standards of comfort and cleanliness, so it's wonderful to hear they made such a positive impression.

It was a pleasure delivering your fire pit and helping you make the most of your stay with recommendations for walks to Chastleton House and Moreton-in-Marsh. One of the joys of staying here is having so many beautiful places to explore right on the doorstep.

We're especially pleased your dog had such a great time too! The riverside walk, neighbouring horses and our secure off-lead exercise field are favourites with many of our four-legged guests, and it's lovely to know they were a highlight of your visit.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. Hearing that you're already planning to return in the next couple of weeks is the greatest compliment we could receive. We can't wait to welcome you all back to Pebbly Barn Farm again very soon.

Warm regards,
John & the Pebbly Barn Farm Team

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
