  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; walks, cycling and pubs nearby; barbecues allowed
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scopes for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Huge flat space - plenty of space for everyone and for the kids to play in. Really quiet and peaceful.
They have made some improvements this year with indoor washrooms which are great.

Disliked: Only put 1 star for wifi as they don’t have it, but I didn’t want it anyway.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Rural and beautiful location
Quiet site
Hot water
Individual bathrooms you can clean your teeth in
Availability of BBQ

Disliked: Pitched on a slope but that was my ignorance- plenty of flatter areas I could have chosen!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted you enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, the hot water, and the individual bathrooms—it’s great to hear those little comforts made a difference.

Thank you for your honest note about the pitch. One of the things we like to offer is the flexibility for guests to choose their own spot, so it’s good to know you’ll be aiming for one of the flatter areas next time. We’re always happy to help recommend a pitch too if you’d like a hand on arrival.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon!

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked: Very warm and friendly welcome.
Clean and tidy.
We could park where ever we wanted.

Disliked: Nothing to really dislike but for us the site itself lacked any character, very large, flat grassed field, no bushes, no trees.
Some people would love that.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the warm welcome, the cleanliness of the site, and the freedom to park wherever suited you best—allowing guests to choose their own pitch is something we’re happy to offer, so you can find the spot that feels just right.

We appreciate your honest feedback about the field itself. You’re absolutely right—it’s a large, flat, open space, which many of our guests appreciate for its simplicity, peace, and uninterrupted views. While the camping field is purposefully kept open and accessible, we’re lucky to be surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside, full of trees, hedgerows, and wildlife just beyond the pitch area and still on property.

Thanks again for staying with us—hopefully we’ll see you again for more rural relaxation!

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
