What customers say
Castleton Camping has amazing views and a quiet vibe, great for hikers heading to Mam Tor and Castleton. Guests loved the clean restrooms and the friendly owner. It's a basic, essential site, perfect for short trips. Expect mud when it's wet and occasional noise, but it's a top pick for its scenery and location.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Nice camp site, this is the second time I’ve stayed here in the last few weeks.
Great access to a good few hiking trails (Mam and Back Tor and Linder scout
Clean modern toilet block, drinking water and honesty box for those late night essentials. Good price and no real sizes for the pitches. Dog go free and dog waist bin provided.
Not far from town where there are many pubs to eat in and take away
Friendly owner who does regular rounds to check everything is ok.
Disliked If I have to say anything negative. It’s the lack of power. But this is a really small negative. As I have on board power and capacity to last my 2 recent trips
The single track road up is a little tight with not many passing spaces, and can get busy on arrival times
