General

  • Family-friendly site next door to Gulliver's Land theme park
  • Just over a mile from the shops and amenities of central Milton Keynes
  • Pub, watersports centre and adventure park within walking distance

Gulliver’s Meadow Caravan and Camping Site is a grand place to spend your Buckinghamshire break.

That’s particularly true for those bringing kids along – not only does it have heaps of space for them to gallop about, but it’s also handily placed right next door to the fab Gulliver’s Land theme park (so that’s a few days out sorted… as they’ll probably helpfully suggest).

There’s plenty to appeal to the grownups here too: all that playing space is conveniently placed to allow for parents to keep an eye on their offspring while putting their feet up on their own patch. Amenities have been added to make life run smoothly, including a parent-and-baby bathroom and a launderette to sort out any mucky pups.

That site is a tree-filled peaceful one, but it’s easy to take a break from driving duties as there’s much within easy toddling distance here: lakeside strolls, watersports, fishing and an adventure park are all within a few minutes’ walk, as is a riverside pub. You could even amble the mile or so into central Milton Keynes for cinemas, shops and restaurants, but there’s always the option of flagging down a bus if you’re feeling faint of foot.

Want to venture a bit further? There’s plenty more to see and do in the surrounds, and the M1’s only a couple of minutes away – thus making Gulliver’s Meadow a super stopover option on cross-country jaunts too.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

The pods were fabulous, compact but very well designed and with plenty of storage, lighting and sockets.

Setting was also lovely, surrounded by trees but with open space nearby if you didn't want the shade.

Pods were very clean and comfortable too.

    Owners were friendly and helpful.

    Clean.
    Nice setting with local walks.
    Plenty to do in area.
Shower block / toilets relatively clean.
Some staff practicing CV19 safety measures

    Disliked:

Post code on booking confirmation not for campsite.
Poor sineage on arrival - reception / 'booking in' instruction needs to be clearer.
Not allowed 2 cars on pitch (even though booking page implies 2 allowed).
No night warden to deal with noisy groups (at least not on our stay).
Onsite shop VERY expensive (£2.50 per lolly, £1.50 can of drink).
Meet and greet staff need to actively demonstrate CV19 meaaures.

    Disliked:

Bad attitude on arrival as was late. Did ring ahead but apparently the number off pitchup, where they said fine no bother, goes through to a different line, not one on site. Very very busy! Bins got very full an places got dirty quick, but staff done there best to empty bins and clean up.

Kept quiet after dark by attentive warden. Lots to do nearby

    Disliked:

Stayed in a pod. Turns out the pods are not looked after by the same people who look after the pitches, caravans and tents because when I arrived at ‘Gullivers Meadow’ I was redirected back to ‘Gullivers World’ reception where I had to walk all the way back through the site to the pods with three children and all of our stuff for the stay. When we got there everyone else had their cars next to their pitch, we felt a bit miffed.
Given accessible pod (2) for no reason, which had one medium bed and a tiny bunk above. Not like the pictures we had seen. Bunk was too dangerous to sleep in, even by myself as it was less than 1m wide with no ‘edge’. I was afraid I’d fall onto the kids sharing the bed below. Ended up sleeping on the floor.

The campsite’s immediate playground was still ‘closed for covid’ despite all the other ones nearby being open. There are a lot of things nearby in mk to do with kids, just a huge pain having to traipse

Local attractions

What’s that little tug on your sleeve? Could it be the tiddlers encouraging you towards Gulliver’s Land? No surprises there – the place is packed with more than 70 rides and shows, all aimed at fun-seekers aged between two and 13. A log flume, an indoor play area, a runaway train, a maze, an enchanted forest, a cowboy town… it’s safe to say there’s stacks here for the small sorts.

And the surrounds are stacked too: take a short walk to Willen Lake for activities both watery and landlubbing. Get wet with freshwater swims, wakeboarding, windsurfing or a go on the inflatable obstacle course, or keep your powder dry with hours of walks, archery, fishing, miniature railway rides and treks on the treetop trails.

There’s a multitude of Milton Keynes cultural doings nearby too – the site is a few minutes’ drive from shows at the Milton Keynes Theatre and historic collections at the Milton Keynes Museum, and about 10 minutes from Bletchley Park, where you can get up to speed on the exploits of the World War II codebreakers.
