Tyckte om Good to find an electric pitch at short notice when booking

Tyckte inte om Couldn't take your car to the pitch to unload camping equipment - we've stayed here before and you could drive to your pitch, you just couldn't park next to your tent as quite a few campsites do.
They've now changed this so not very convenient and apart from mentioning on the pitch info when booking that you couldn't park at the pitch there was no prior warning about this, had we known we would have brought our festival trolley - lots of other guests weren't aware of this either.
Was told there were trolleys available to transport stuff from car park to pitch but there were none - luckily we found someone who had just finished using one so grabbed that but there were no others and lots of guests looking.
They need to have more trolleys for guests and make it clearer on their booking information about the no parking and no cars allowed at pitch as they are two different things when booking campsites
Staff weren't really sure what they were doing - everyone that was camping in the electric field were all told to pitch on the same number pitch and even after the electric field was full (no available hook ups left) they were still advertising as having space
Showers were cold and everything was just tired and could do with a bit of TLC
Its not a bad site just tired and uncared for
Location was perfect for our needs and is a fantastic site for children

Tyckte om Reasonably priced, but you get what you pay for!

Tyckte inte om There are hardly any trolleys available for guests, so be prepared to make several long walks with your belongings. The site grounds/ setup has changed, so you are actually right in Gullivers land amongst themed cabins. Great for families, but unlikely to be your thing without kids. Customer service was lacking. Facilities were dated. No security and minimal site supervision.

Tyckte inte om It’s quite dirty, the bar area needs a good clean. Showers and general up keep is poor, pool wasn’t open. Lake wasn’t open , food was limited.

Tyckte om stayed for 1 night. brilliant time so much to do and to hear all the kids playing and laughing made it much more fun, we have booked to go again 😊

Tyckte inte om We had a bell tent and came back after a few hours to it being covered in bed bugs. Had to move. Luckily there were others available to move to. Wouldn’t be in any rush to return

Tyckte om It met its purpose as a central meet up spot for our group, we loved the little woodland area we stayed in containing the camping pods and it felt like we had a lovely space to ourselves for the children to play. The site was large and on our first night relatively empty and quiet.

Bathrooms could’ve been cleaner but on the whole were ‘ok’…
Pods were a bit dirty, lots of dust and cobwebs but understandably in the woods are probably tricky to keep clean!
The staff we interacted with were friendly, but also seemingly slightly clueless

Tyckte inte om Toilets were not good. Ladies not too bad, just lacking toilet roll and toilet seat lids that didn’t stay up. Gents was filthy. Toilets blocked and smeared in poo. We spoke to reception about it but nothing happened to improve the situation.

Security - non-existent. Anyone could access the site. We left a few non-valuable bits outside of our tent overnight and they were stolen.

Noise from nearby pub - very loud until late. Kept kids awake.

Be aware that whilst the dark green bell tents are great for sleeping in, they are very, very dark even during the day - so don’t expect to play a game of cards!

Trolley system is ridiculous. You are meant to use the trolleys to transport your stuff and then return them. Some selfish types kept the trolleys in their accommodation over the weekend meaning that there were no trolleys available for others to use.

Tyckte om The facilities were of a fairly good standard.

Tyckte inte om Electric hook up was very far from pitch- we needed two long extension leads.
Using trolleys to get equipment to pitch from the car park. We needed to do three trips to our car with two young children and a dog to care for, less than ideal.
Not being able to pitch until 4pm, despite check out being 10am.

Tyckte om The area of the camp side is really nice.

Tyckte inte om The cars can not be parked on side, you need to use trolley to move the staff from car park to camp side. The problem is that they got not enough trolleys , so is almost impossible to get one. The toilets are dirty . As well is not easy to find the place .
