Got kids excited to visit theme parks? Or maybe you're looking forward to hiking adventures in protected forest or keen to visit an opulent château? A stay at leafy, peaceful and family-friendly Camping La Faloise should serve you admirably well on all three counts. Tucked into woodland at Angicourt in the Oise, this peaceful, leafy campsite is within 45 minutes' drive of three theme parks, including Parc Astérix. It’s also sandwiched between walking trails in the Côtes, Halatte and Compiègne forests, while for anyone doing some castle-bagging, moated Château de Chantilly is 25 minutes’ drive away. Suffice to say you should always have something to do… Should you choose to spend some quiet time drifting around on site, there’s no shortage of stuff going on there either. Soak up the sun on your spacious grassy pitch, indulge in a gentle bit of family competition on the sports field or pétanque court (site owner Philippe can lend you all the gear), or allow toddlers to let off steam safely at the small playground. When it comes to catering, spark up the communal barbecue and eat al fresco, or join the queue at the (occasional) food truck, which serves up dishes prepared with local ingredients. Should you get itchy feet and decide to eat elsewhere, it's handy that the site is near the towns of Liancourt (five minutes’ drive) and Creil (15 minutes), with all their cafés, takeaways and bistros.

From the manager: It is unfortunate to hear that your experience at the site did not live up to your expectations. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Your feedback is important to us and we take your comments very seriously. It has been raining all week and our pitches are on grass. With the passage of other campers, mud has set in. As stated in our description. We do not offer access to water or the emptying of chemical toilets in our establishment. However, we have made every effort to provide you with access to water. As regards site maintenance, we are currently undergoing work and remain open so that travellers like you can stay. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future to offer you a more pleasant experience in line with our quality standards. If you have any other concerns or suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Staying at Camping La Faloise is a boon if you’re travelling with kids, as it puts you close to the Gaul-themed live shows and extreme rides at Parc Astérix (35 minutes’ drive), or the carousels and Western-style attractions at Mer de Sable (45 minutes). If you’re going for the hat trick, Parc Saint-Paul (also 45 minutes) has amusement rides and slides for all levels of bravery. Children taken care of, you’re free to get your cultural quota by venturing out to the impressive Château de Chantilly (25 minutes). You can also admire the spires and turrets of fairytale Château de Pierrefonds (45 minutes), or wander the gorgeous formal gardens at Parc du Château de Compiègne (40 minutes). Combine your heritage jaunts with rambling, running or cycling on way-marked tracks in the protected Forest of Compiègne (also 40 minutes), or stay closer to home and take family hikes through woodland directly from the campsite. If you’re looking for inspiration, leaflets charting the best walks are available from reception.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
