What customers say

Great campsite with lovely woodland, spacious sites and tidy, modern facilities (hot showers!). Friendly staff. Enjoyed the peace, stream, and walks. Good base for North Devon. Some road noise & occasional amenity availability issues noted.

Power optional grass caravan, tent or trailer tent site (large)

Liked Great campsite! Lovely environment and very helpful staff. Clean facilities, large level pitches (no little stones!) and V close to lots of local popular towns and beaches. The site seems to naturally settle down at 10ish as it's mostly families. No complaints whatsoever.

Power optional grass tent, caravan or trailer tent site (premium)

Liked The campsite, the pitch, the showers and toilets and the area as a whole. A little brook running through which the children thoroughly enjoyed. Dog friendly. Lovely walks.

Disliked Very little in the shop which was quite small and the cafe/restaurant was closed on two of the days we were there but food was great when it was open.

Power optional grass tent, caravan or trailer tent site (premium)

Liked Lovley quiet and well organised site. Staff excellent and showers and toilets clean and well maintained.
Lovley little restaurant/ bar and shop has the essentials that you may need.
There are two play parks for the kids , quite small but kept them busy and also they loved messing around in the stream building dams etc.

Liked Loved everything about the place. It was spacious, welcoming and peaceful. Walking our little dog through the wooded area allowed us to explore and relax surrounded by wildlife. The pitch was perfect. Plenty of space and you can really tell they look after their site all year.

Local attractions

Hidden Valley is four miles from two of Devon’s best-known beaches, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, five miles from the surfing mecca of Croyde Bay and six from a family day out at the beach of Saunton Sands. The areas around all these are well worth a look, but the Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a must for bucketloads of boat trips such as punts out to nearby Lundy Island, the seafront with the Landmark Theatre, and St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, where a light has shone over the harbour for over a thousand years. Bring a torch for a walk to the Ilfracombe Museum and Tunnels beach, reached by tunnels through the cliff. Many family attractions close by for all weathers, including Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes' drive) and The Big Sheep (30 minutes), while sprogs will probably also like spotting ponies in the Exmoor wilderness, getting creeped out in the dungeon labyrinths of Watermouth Castle (20 minutes) or taking to the skies in the rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park, 45 minutes away at Bideford.
