If life’s little stresses are getting you down, flee and hide away in this award-winning park in a Devon wooded valley. From your doorstep at Hidden Valley Park all the highlights of north Devon are within easy reach: the famed beaches of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are no more than 15 minutes' drive away, and family days out at The Big Sheep are about half an hour from the site. But this pretty place is so secluded you'll feel like the world outside doesn’t even exist (which is always a win…). There's no need to leave the grounds until you're fully perked up, with plenty of peaceful options including wandering along the stream running through the park, lazing about the lakeside area, or taking a woodland walk to spot kingfishers and otters. Take a tramp through the forest then come back to relax around the gardens and lake – there’s wifi access too so you can load up your phone/tablet and studiously avoid catching up on work. Which is also a win… Kids and dogs can hide away too, as there are two play parks for the youngsters and the park is dog-friendly. Amenities include luxury shower and toilet blocks with hairdryers and underfloor heating, full disabled facilities, a reception with tourist information, a licensed shop and a launderette. Once it’s time to venture off site, a bus stop is just outside the entrance to the park.

Great woodland site with a stream. Staff are legends, pitches are huge & clean. Showers are top-notch. Super peaceful, brilliant for dog walks. Road noise & dodgy WiFi sometimes. Kids' play gear needs a spruce-up.

Liked Site is kept very clean and tidy.Ataff are very helpful. Terrific setting in tge valley which is picturesque. On site bar and restaurant. Natural haven for wildlife. Good kids play area.
Owner provided me with 2 screws to fix my broken drain tap bracket on my campervan. Pay in advance ehu on a smart card with unused £ refunded. Wer suit wash area.

Disliked Coming towards end of season and no hot food in restaurant and limited choice of beers with no draught.
Large logs used to prevent driving on grassy areas are just the right height to catch drain taps on and difficult to see in the darkas there's no lighting near the touring pitches.
Some close road noise.

Liked Loved the site, great for dog walkers. Miles of woodland trails , restaurant on site was lovely with delicious food. Modern toilet blocks which were kept very clean. The site is only a short drive from several beaches. We loved our time at Hidden Valley , we will definitely be back.

Liked We keep coming back to this clean, tidy and peaceful site.
Lovely wardens there with a friendly welcome and the pitches are all a good size.
Electric is paid for by card which we love, then we are just paying for what we use (about 50p per night in our campervan).
Beautifully positioned in a wooded valley about 10 minutes drive from both Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.

Liked Me and my partner have come to this site 2 years in a row now. We love how we requested a specific pitch and the staff accommodated this. The showers are cleaned regularly, there is washing machines and tumble driers for a small fee and bins stationed throughout the site. The whole place is just beautiful; not an ounce of litter, the grass is kept and the trees are maintained which is lovely as the site is surrounded by them! The staff are wonderful and really helpful. We cannot forget to mention Kit Kat, whom is a long term resident at the site - she is purrrrrfect.

Disliked The restaurant could serve food slightly later than 7pm. Although, this is a personal preference as people who eat later.

Local attractions

Hidden Valley is four miles from two of Devon’s best-known beaches, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, five miles from the surfing mecca of Croyde Bay and six from a family day out at the beach of Saunton Sands. The areas around all these are well worth a look, but the Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a must for bucketloads of boat trips such as punts out to nearby Lundy Island, the seafront with the Landmark Theatre, and St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, where a light has shone over the harbour for over a thousand years. Bring a torch for a walk to the Ilfracombe Museum and Tunnels beach, reached by tunnels through the cliff. Many family attractions close by for all weathers, including Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes' drive) and The Big Sheep (30 minutes), while sprogs will probably also like spotting ponies in the Exmoor wilderness, getting creeped out in the dungeon labyrinths of Watermouth Castle (20 minutes) or taking to the skies in the rides at the Milky Way Adventure Park, 45 minutes away at Bideford.
